by OyyoDams (Posted Sat, 18 May 2013 04:26:16 GMT)<br/>Can you try again (just refresh) and tell me if it's better ? The button should be aligned on the top bar, it shouldn't be next to the layer button.

About the flashing bug, could you tell me which options you've enabled in Highlight script and in Toolbox script ? I'd really like to reproduce this bug...

Thanks.

Some examples: Canal Road, Rock Creek Parkway. Is there a map editing tool for this?[/quote:3m6h9sd6]
This has been discussed at great length in several places in the forum, please search before posting in the future. It is also covered in the FAQ.

by davipt (Posted Sat, 18 May 2013 10:45:18 GMT)<br/>
:o Now I feel discriminated! There is no logic in doing things like this.[/quote:2z43bh74]

Hey look, it's right on the top of the localization forum:
<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=417&amp;t=39662">viewtopic.php?f=417&amp;t=39662</a><!-- l -->

The logic is quite simple: support the country where the language was &quot;born&quot; (UK, PT), and only a second language in case there is a country much bigger, important, and there are significant differences (US, BR).

For Spanish I see Mexico (100M) and Colombia (46M) with more Spanish speakers than Spain itself (38M), and even Argentina and US (37M) as close calls, so how many different spanish versions would you expect to have and how could it be managed? <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

On the other hand I wonder what kind of resources would waze spend on a new language/split language. Besides one time operations like adding a new tree in transifex, additional settings on the backend and server, the major of the effort would be done by us the people outside localizing it.

Besides having noticed that even inside Spain there are different Spanish variations, I'm not aware of how many forks you'd need, and even if I look at Portuguese I know the need of PT vs. BR but don't know how the rest of the world would align. What I mean is that if I were to suggest a split for all Portuguese language speakers, I'd stick to PT, BR and Palops (Paises Africanos Lingua Oficial Portuguesa - African Countries with Portuguese as official language), so maybe that is the idea of having (of pushing for) a split between Spain and Latam but no further than that?

by berestovskyy (Posted Sat, 18 May 2013 06:47:00 GMT)<br/>In real life it is a roundabout (Gogle street view)[/url:2nq73eih], marked with &quot;Give way&quot; and &quot;Roundabout&quot; signs.

Here is another example[/url:2nq73eih] with proper roundabout segments if you wish. Despite I was trying hard to put those nodes on the right positions, I still get &quot;take 3rd exit&quot; instead of &quot;on the roundabout take left&quot;. It's OK with me, but it bugs most of our AMs, so they prefer to have normal segments over roundabouts as my previous examples.

by txemt (Posted Fri, 17 May 2013 11:00:03 GMT)<br/>I'm having the same problem in the vast openness of West Texas and have discovered that any road that goes off of the map will bring that error. I have also discovered, if you use a road segment and break the longer segments into smaller ones, you can delete them easier. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Bezier shapes

by AlanOfTheBerg (Posted Fri, 17 May 2013 08:11:11 GMT)<br/>
Alan, I think you misunderstand.[/quote:ia7c22uu]
I get what you're saying, I was going the route of implementing a bezier tool in the editor, but to save would require a number of geometry nodes in the current data model to &quot;hold&quot; the curve. I do understand it could be done mathematically, too. I can see that as a possibility, but would require significant changes to the editor, the data model, the daily tile processing code and perhaps the app as well, to take advantage of this.
Looking at the client map, though, I believe that Bezier curves are actually used in the process as you don't see many sharp angles around curves, they are all &quot;softened&quot; by some algorithm or other, Bezier may be involved anyway.[/quote:ia7c22uu]
I see what you mean, but on the opposite end, I've never seen a nicely curved roundabout. They are always quite blocky.
