Firstly on the subject of service roads, I haven't been using that road type for while and I've heard Waze is planning on phasing out service roads, in favour of streets. (Apparently they were meant to be for US access roads which run alongside interstates)

That intersection is notoriously known by locals as one which has really bad traffic light timing, and can cause cars to bank up along the highway in a really short amount of time.

I've had a look at the average speeds of the sections of road and Princes Hwy should get routing priority because of it. (Open image in new window to see the whole image)

However, I think real time traffic speeds are causing these routing errors. Real time speeds along the highway must get lower than the service road speeds during peak hour and therefore Waze routes them onto the service road! I've disabled the right turn from the slip lane into the shopping complex which leads straight back onto the highway which should help a bit, can't do much about the other side though.

Yo uso el holder que va en el parabrisas pero toca andar con vidrios arriba adicional yo lo quito en ciertas zonas o cuando hay demasiada congestión y lo paso para abajo junto al freno de estacionamiento. (aunqeu un semaforo es suficiente para un atraco... )... se que a veces "doy papaya" con el tema... pero para mi es la forma mas fácil y segura (para quien va manejando) de verlo. aunque con lo qeu he leido voy a buscar alternativas...

Una sugerencia con respecto a la imagen con la solución casera que hay del celular pegado al timón del carro ... pilas si se tienen Air Bags uno no está excento de un choque y donde se estalle el Air Bag... el golpe en la cara con el telefono va a ser violento...

Hola julilei.
El mapa en el cliente esta dividido en cuadros, que se van actualizando automáticamente cuando se los navega, o hay una ruta definida a recorrer.
Pero si crees que no está actualizado podes ir al menú de Ajustes->Avanzados->Transferencia de datos y apretar "Refrescar mapa de mi área"
De esa forma te aseguras que lo esté. Normalmente no es necesario hacer esto.

For your original question as phrased in the subject, no, you can only edit in your editable area.

But yes, you can expand your editable area and can be AM of an area outside of where you live (in the US)...
IF you can say why you know it (former home, you travel there multiple times a year, etc)
IF there aren't already a bunch of active AMs in the area
IF you have a good record as an editor
IF the area you are requesting isn't huge
IF you pass all the other checks and reviews we use on each and every AM request.

Thanks guys for your input. FYI this is the 2nd time I've requested my CM to look into it. Can't remember what he did but after the map update, the problem is still there.

On another note, I've manage to find the WME Junction Angle that works with Chrome. At least now I can check the angles.

So we wait for INTL server for the next map update and see whether the problem is resolved. I guess it's going to be a long wait compare to US server.

Señores estamos fuera del aire en la página de facebook, esperamos que se solucione rápido.

Por otro lado, como dice el Jefe tenemos superpoderes (Moderar los foros) no sé si es problema del servidor o en realidad estamos haciendo uso de los mismos y algunos post no quedan en orden cronológico si no antes, es decir, totalmente atravesados y desordenados.

Tengo entendido, que lo que quiere decir que esta prohibido dar la vuelta.. ¿no?

In northern Michigan, you'll see McKinley. This messed me up at first because McKinley is in the "thumb" of Michigan. Further investigation indicates that this is McKinley Township. I don't know that I ever heard anyone refer to McKinley in northern Michigan in the 20 or so years I lived there. Not only that, but everything I see where that is listed shows that as the primary name rather than the names of the towns through the area (Pellston, Van, Levering, Carp Lake, etc.). If you want to leave it, I'd recommend changing it to say McKinley Twp so it's clear what it is and then make it secondary to any alternate names that are already in the system so the towns people recognize are there instead of a township that no one ever mentions and many may not even know exists. But personally, I see no value in having it on the map at all. Right now, it's just confusing to have it there imo.

I think it looks fine. The only tweaks I'd consider are 1) Remove https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=-75.97 ... s=73846411, and 2) are the geometry tweaks at the west side of these necessary? I'd think the "normal" direct angle would still give the correct turn instructions.

Podla toho, co je na wiki, su pre vyber "najrychlejsej" trasy pouzivane priemerne rychlosti, resp. obvykle priemerne rychlosti pre urcity cas v priebehu dna (cca 10-15 minutove casove useky).
Ak by sa nezohladnovali rychlosti, aky by potom malo vyznam ponukat "najrychlejsiu" trasu, ked by stacilo zostat pri "najkratsej"?
Ale zo zvedavosti mozno skusim ten prepocet. Potom dam vediet.

Right, but that's the thing. It is basically useless on an interstate that doesn't have service plazas if you can't see gas stations at the exits. If there needs to be a limit so you don't have hundreds of gas stations on a 1000 mile trip, then just show the gas stations within a mile of any exit when on an interstate and no more than 50-100 miles away from where you are. It doesn't really matter how it's handled, but there needs to be a way to see gas prices over the next dozen or so exits so you know when to stop for gas.

Na załączonej fotce są oznaczenia zjazdów do poszczególnych dzielnic Warszawy. Otóż nie wydaje mi się zasadne aby robić takie opisy, bo nie są to nazwy miejscowości. Jako autor załączonego obrazka się wypowiem (choć tak naprawdę wszystko już zostało napisane)

Otóż on miał za zadanie ilustrować sytuację, w której _nie_ należy nazywać drogi. I to właśnie w celu zminimalizowania zbędnych instrukcji. W tym wypadku, żeby kierując na Wolę nie wyświetlał najpierw czegoś w stylu ">> Wola, Bielany, Żoliborz" i chwilę później ">> Wola", tylko cały czas prowadził kierowcę na Wolę wyświetlając jeden komunikat ">> Wola".

Dlaczego nazwy dzielnic? Tak jak pisał berestovskyy, żeby było zgodnie z tym co jest na znakach. W tym miejscu jezdnia ma 5 pasów prowadzących w 3 różnych kierunkach? Skąd kierowca ma wiedzieć, którym pasem ma jechać? Z instrukcji trzymaj się prawej tego nie wywnioskuje. A gdy mam napisane ">> Wola" wiem, że mam jechać skrajnym prawym. Dlatego na wszystkich skomplikowanych skrzyżowaniach (z estakadami) powinny być nazwy odpowiadające znakom. Nie istotne jest czy ten znak prowadzi do jakiegoś miasta, dzielnicy, na lotnisko czy może do świątyni (chociaż nie wydaje mi się, żeby to było poprawne użycie) to należy taką nazwę zjazdowi nadać. Oczywiście w razie potrzeby należy informację skrócić - np podając tylko najważniejsze kierunki.

Gdzieś mam też zrobione zdjęcia takich bardziej normalnych zjazdów więc może je dodam do wiki w wolnej chwili. Wtedy jedynie pozostanie zrobienie opisów do nich zgodnych z wynikiem głosowania

En hou in je achterhoofd:
Het pluggen van complete nieuwsberichten omwille van het melden van het nieuws is niet wettelijk toegestaan.
Het Waze forum is dus géén nieuwsdatabase. Het doel van het forum is >>discussie<<, niet om een nieuwsbibliotheek te zijn.

Hola, hoy envié un error, el sistema me contestó que sirgabouy lo corrigió, pero que podía demorar hasta 10 días en aparecer en el mapa. Eso sin mencionar que las correciones que yo hice ya pasaron 4 o 5 días y nada. Ya aparecerán. Saludos

Whoops, I didn't look into this situation enough. In the City's GIS, there is no road there. On Street View, it looks like that might technically be some apartments and that's technically their road. Also, the roads are two way. Now redo all your discussion :p

In general, I have found a lot of the U shaped roads in subdivisions and they are almost never labeled as being one way (despite the basemap having them as one way, in real life they are not signed and are wide enough for two way).

Greetings,

I'm a new Wazer who's become interested in map editing, and have been looking at fixing MPs in my area. I found the following MP reported for a driving direction mismatch at a 4-way junction with 3 of the ways being divided and the 4th way a 2-way street. The mismatch being east-bound drivers making a U-Turn at that intersection.

After reading through the wiki and Googling through the forums, I came to the decision that the junction could be bow-tied to simplify things. The screen shot below is the solution I came up with. Is this a reasonable solution to the driving direction mismatch MP?

po dlhsej dobe som mal cestu z Bratislavy do Ostravy. volil som pohodlnejsiu cestu cez D2 na Brno a potom D1 na Ostravu.

1. co ma prekvapilo, nazvy exitov nie su zosuladene s realnymi smerovymi tabulami.
v roamingu data nepouzivam, takze som nebol schopny zadavat URka.
bolo by asi dobre, keby sa nasiel dobrodinec, ktory by zosuladil nazvy exitov so smerovymi tabulami podla streetview. korunu vsetkemu nasadil nazov tohto exitu: Exit Plzeňská x Rudná.
pre uzivatela neznaleho lokality totalne zavadzajuce. Exit Bohumin by bol, podla mojho nazoru, vyrazne lepsi.

2. tiez som bol prekvapeny, ze podla navigacnych hlasok toto nie je kruhac, no ked to vidim zo satelitneho pohladu, asi bude problem to spravit ako kruhac. mozno WME toolbox.

Realmente, o Google plus teve um desempenho muito abaixo do esperado. Gostaria de ver todo o conteúdo de POI do google disponibilizado no waze. Só não precisamos dos edifícios 3D no mapa, pois poluem o visual, oneram a conexão a não trazem benefícios para o trânsito e navegação.

Ca ne te consolera pas, mais il n'y a pas qu'en rase campagne que c'est comme ça. Je m'occupe de la région de Grenoble et j'ai remarqué également que d'une manière générale les détails ne sont pas vus. Je veux dire par là que le fond de la carte est bien là, que dans pas mal d'endroits tout va bien, mais que dans pas mal d'autres ça ne va pas du tout. Je retrouve tous les défauts que tu cites, plus d'autres plus ou moins faciles à repérer.

J'avais déjà lu des coups de gueule à ce sujet sur la région lyonnaise, et maintenant que j'ai les mains dedans, je comprends mieux l'agacement de certains lorsqu'un éditeur passe du temps à dédoubler une voie ou à faire le parking en bas de chez lui alors qu'il reste tant de taf sur la carte elle-même.
Du coup, je fais dans le systématique ; j'édite tous les segments un par un et je vérifie tout ce que je peux. Je refais tous les RP (en supprimant les pattes d'oies...) je réunifie les voies dédoublées (des fois il n'y a même pas une ligne continue...), je simplifie les carrefours à 13 segments ... Enfin comme toi.

J'ai même des fois des mails de gens agacés que j'ai modifié leur parcours quotidien qui fonctionnait si bien, mais c'est pas grave. Même s'il m'arrive de faire une erreur de temps en temps, je suis persuadé qu'après mon passage je laisse une carte en bien meilleur état qu'elle ne l'était avant.

Et ce, juste pour que tu t'arrêtes : il repasse au vert dès que tu arrives à sa hauteur.
Tu roule tranquille à 50, le détecteur au-dessus du feux fait passer le feu au rouge, tu rétrogrades, le feux passe au vert et tu accélères. Au Vésinet, vers trois heures du matin, tu perds facile 6 minutes, tu surconsommes et tu pollues en proportion.
Pour cette ville, et bien que ce soit limitée à 50, je baisse ma consommation (de nuit et quand il n'y a personne sur la route) de presque 10% (7,2 l au lieu de 7,9) en calant mon limiteur sur 40 (alors que je suis obligé de tomber un rapport)...

Dať sa to dá určite, zrejme len zmenili východziu hodnotu radenia príspevkov pre anonymných užívateľov. Stačí pozrieť na nastavenie do databázy (tabuľka by mala byť phpbb_users a anonym má v phpbb ID 1) a skontrolovať hodnoty user_topic_sortby_type (default je t) a user_topic_sortby_dir (default je d) - hodnoty som obkukal len zo svojho fóra.

Resulta que las vías seleccionadas las había puesto de una única vía debido a que así salió el mapa de cambios del Mopt anunciándolo. Pero ahora veo errores y puntos GPS que parecen indicar otra cosa.

I drive this route every day to work so it is a pet peeve that Waze always routes me on a worse route.

Heading southbound on Zanker, myself and hundreds of others make a u-turn at Tasman due to the median on Zanker. I went into the map editor a few weeks ago and allowed a u-turn here, but reading on the forum seems to indicate that u-turns are not enabled in the routing engine for unsplit roads. I read the best practices which indicate that one case for splitting a road with a median barrier is to allow u-turns at the intersections where they are allowed.

Should Zanker be split, at least at the intersection with Tasman?

Hola señores, después de hace algún tiempo atrás de venir usando WAZE, me dí cuenta que también hay un foro, que bueno y mejor aún si hay una sección regionalizada para Costa Rica..

Por allí me he entretenido editando algunos mapas, enviando algunos reportes y creando algunas rutas que normalmente transito.

Los felicito por el gran esfuerzo que se hace por normalizar las "malas direcciones" que hay en nuestro país, sin duda alguna la aplicación ayuda mucho y nos saca de un apuro (al menos a mí).

Como comentario, tal vez por la falta de tiempo en la navegación del foro, no encontré una zona donde los miembros de este se puedan presentar dentro de nuestro país de donde son, que hacen, alguna profesión, si tienen algún grupo... cosas así.. al rato y se hace una bonita comunidad..

Sigan adelante, ya que veo que en CR son pocos los usuarios de WAZE en el foro, pero son muchísimos los que hay en los móviles.

Is there a way, that all Editors could agree how to name Petrol/Gas Stations?

Some of them are just "Service Station xxx", some just Service Station
Why not calling them by actual name + location or what ever what could help finding it?

Eg. I have Topaz fuel card and if I want to find nearest Topaz station it's not possible in couple simple touches. Using Topaz App is worthless too - it is so unusable...
Or it is simply Waze search engine problem?
Or I don't know how to use it :[
