Хотелось бы таки уточнить как на самом деле. Судя по очень аккуратно притянутым дорогам, которые не залочены, к трекам, геометрия все-таки меняется и дороги подтягиваются (подтягивались) к трекам. Но будь я адекватным разработчиком, я сделал бы количество треков, необходимое для притягивания геометрии дороги к усредненному треку, очень большим.
Также, судя по Вики, блокировка влияет на вероятность того, что Вейз все-таки проложит маршрут в обход запрета поворота, делая ее практически нулевой. Т.е. из этой фразы следует самое интересное, что если на карте в Картуше поворот запрещен, то Вейз, получается, все-равно может проложить через него маршрут (хоть и всеми силами пытается этого избежать, если верить все той же Вики).

Definitely need unique subject lines based on the type of response being sent. I've been using HTML tags in my response to hopefully catch the user's eye when I need more info, but the response rate is pretty bad. Most people probably just delete the e-mail without looking at content when they see "map update processed".

Hopefully the new function in the editor to show the Waze route and user route will help clear up some of these, but it won't help when someone reports a missing road that they weren't driving on. For example, I've opened a couple of requests where I saw a non-existent road that was showing in the app. If there is no text to say which road is missing, the Waze route and user route will be the same if that non-existent road wasn't routed across so you won't necessarily know what is wrong.

Thanks everyone, I figured it had to be something I was overlooking. I've renamed the segment (along with a bunch of other bad segments) and will check after the next map update. I'm also thinking about un-splitting Spring Hill Rd, and maybe even International, and then I can fix the turn restrictions without a bow-tie (not that I'm opposed to bow-ties).

Another issue with putting non public access roads on the map, is that possibly due to the location of the pin in bing,google,etc. One of the access roads may be closer than the public road, and cause weird routing issues.

Had that happen at PDX with the base import.

Nouvelle version de Papyrus

Désormais le nouveau Papyrus fonctionne bien sur mes différents PCs (sauf mon mac qui est un powerpc et qui ne permet plus d'éditer depuis le passage à papyrus).

Une question tout de même :
Lorsqu'on visualise une archive de route, lorsqu'il y a un problème sur le trajet il met le segment en rouge.
Lorsqu'on clique sur ce segment (rouge) il propose de le créer le segment.
J'ai testé, il crée un segment en superposition du segment existant.
Dans ce secteur, Chris5757 (wazeur injoignable mais qui me fait pleins d'éditions fantaisistes dans mon secteur) avait mis le segment en sens unique au lieu de double sens. J'ai corrigé depuis, locké et j'attends la mise à jour de la carte d'où le segment en rouge sur mes archives.

Je me dis qu'avec cette nouvelle "fonctionnalité" on risque d'avoir des créations de routes très imaginaires. je vois certaines traces GPS passer par dessus les fleuves, montagnes. Ca promet d'être fun.

Autre question :
Désormais, la gestion de notre Zone AM est plus lisible (enfin moi j'ai qu'une Area 0, y en aura d'autres ?), mais on ne voit toujours pas les autres AM comme c'était le cas dans l'ancien cartouche.

Just using this as an example of the drawback of landmarks to indicate tolls. If the editor is not careful, they could draw the landmark over some of the south-bound lanes and then the routing server would include that segment as tolled. Especially easy if there are inter-woven lanes/ramps and the editor is trying to draw the landmark to cover the entire toll plaza.

Yes it can easily be drawn correctly, but it can also easily be off ever so slightly.

Yes, it has been discussed before. Here's the link again of the same case. The right lane (left on the map) is free, because it paid on the in-line toll before. the other two pay. the AM must be careful.

There was another link in the thread even better, the toll is over a bridge with a perpendicular road right below them. the AM would have to cheat a little bit and draw the landmark slightly before the toll so it wouldn't cross the other perpendicular road.

Hence why any solution is good for me. Segment - and only one - is perfect.

GPS layer not updating evidence

And the status page should not be based on when the job last ran, but how old the queue of data is.

It does us no good, to have a status that says the GPS layer is up to date today, if it relies on data from the route processing layer, and that layer is a week behind. (not saying that is the current case... just an example)

routing is a cloud based thing. The client can do local routing calculations if it has never talked to the server in this session, but frankly the local routing code sucks. But I can understand that fixing it is a low priority, since this is designed to be an online app.

Most of the responses you will on the forum are from community members and not waze employees, so the more information you can provide the better. Example of start and ending locations, permalink of the area.

Most likely we are just seeing a map issue here, where waze cannot find a good route to the destination.

I personally think it would add too much clutter, it keeps it much simpler. Trapster did that and it was just too busy with too much crap to look for. The magic of the multitask menu is you double click the home, move to the right and you have controls right there without leaving the app.. it would be almost as much work if it was integrated i bet..

Hey guys,

Great app- its really easy to use and has a great user base which makes this app very very useful. I think you have thought of a lot of very smart ways to keep it simple and safe.

Really only trivial things I kinda thought could be good improvements-

1. I like navigation in 3D mode, but its difficult to navigate on the map when i want to manually search the map... if you could have an option to change from 3D to 2D as soon as you drag the map to look around, I think that could be kinda useful (also seems to perform better scrolling in 2D).

2. Moving in traffic police button? Maybe make it 3 large buttons instead of two, because a lot of times I see a cop in the flow of traffic, and I want to mark it but it gives the false impression he's just waiting on the shoulder.. a user could infer by the time of the event how far away the polive may be from their position?

3. Better tracking of chats- maybe I just missed something, but it seems once I send a chat there's no way to track it until I get a reply if I do.. could there be a way to see chat history?

4. On that same point as number 3, tracking the events you log.. it would be cool to see a list of the things I post up (as long as they are still active) to see how many others have found it useful. I don't care about an entire history of everything I've ever logged, but for as long as they are active it would be cool to be able to see the items I've added.

Other than that, I thnk it's a pretty impressive app and I really enjoy using it! BTW im using this on an iphone 4... just a fyi in case there was interest on the version.

Problems I encountered using Waze while driving across US

What you experienced is map quality issue.

To keep waze free to us end users (no application cost... no update costs), they have went with a base map import from a free government source, instead of buying mature maps from some of the big mapping companies.

These imports do have issues... either with roads levels that are not up to date, and just the issue of stitching together that much data, sometimes doesn't work perfectly.

So... waze is great for "short" commute style routes, as the community is more likely to ferret out any issues that affect their routes daily. But for long routes, it takes someone either that drives that route often, or an area manager with rights to the area, to work down the whole interstate/highway, correcting every little issue that will cause a long route to fail.

As far as gps lock, I presume you are on an android device, as that is the one I hear more complaints about this from. And I would guess you are not on the current beta, as I also see reports that the issue happens a lot less in the beta. Waze will cache "some" of the route (we've been told for performance reasons, waze will not normally cache the whole route, but grab parts as it goes), but you have to use navigation to get this pre-caching, or view the area in question at the zoom levels you want visible (pan and scan to get them to load).

Reverse, Connectivity, lurks nearby. I'd disallow all turns with Q, save, then manually enable allowed turns one by one on all junctions along both user and waze routes at both locations and the surrounding areas.

As for the third example I think turn restrictions are messed up all around on that junction.

The US and Costa Rica are on two different Waze infrastructures and all details are independent. Although, one Waze account works for both.

To see Costa Rica points, routes, etc you need to start at world.waze.com
To see US points, routes, etc you need to start at www.waze.com

En nyt keksinyt parempaakaan paikkaa kysäistä asiaa. Otin wazen käyttöön nyt n. viikko sitten ja vaikuttaa näppärältä ohjelmalta. Ensimmäinen ongelma tuli nyt eteen, kun lisäilin tuolla liikenteessä poliisien tolppakameran, merkkasin sen puhelimella ja ohjeiden mukaan piti tulla hyväksymään livemappiin. Nyt ei ymmärrä, että mistä tämä ns. hyväksyntä pitää oikeen tehdä? Teiden lisäämistä ei ilmeisesti pysty puhelimella tekemään, jos nyt oikein ymmärsin?

Bien sur, Niel ne s'est jamais caché de vouloir faire du business. D'ailleurs il revendique de s'être lancé dans l'entreprenariat pour ça.

Il part du principe que un prix plus juste amène plus de clients, cqfd.

Les télécoms c'est à mon avis comme le marché de l'eau ou les syndics, un secteur qui surfe sur l'ignorance ou l'incompétence des gens pour se faire des marges indécentes. Et encore c'est pire au Canada où on paie pour les appels entrants!

Grazie a tutti,

certamente una volta imparato il funzionamento del sistema, conosciuto tutte le convenzioni, regole, etc... chiederò di diventare Area Manager.
Ho subito recepito il possibile l'errore che mi segnali, starò più attento.
Credo che waze sia un navigatore esclusivamente stradale, da non considerarsi utilizzabile per i pedoni, o sbaglio?
Ho visto la data, ma a volte mi compare anche 13/01 (forse solo in America?!)

Circa la strada, continuo a vederla sul telefono in modo diverso (ed errato se vogliamo) rispetto al Map Editor, sul map editor ha la forma corretta, che è anche quella di google maps, etc... sul telefono ha una curvatura strana e che sia strana come cosa, lo si capisce anche visualizzando le strade limitrofe: stona (non ho modo di postare screen ora)

Non riesco a trovare l'opzione Monitora Rete, dove si trova? Credo di aver smanettato ovunque!
Ultima cosa, per ora... i "livelli" cosa sarebbero? Ho interpretato che sia il livello stradale per regolare le sovrapposizioni di strade che si intersecano!? Tipo sottopasso, sovrappassi, etc?

Tipo, una strada normale è livello 0, una che gli passa sopra è 1 ed un sottopasso che passa sotto la "normale" è -1?
Ho molta fantasia o le cose stanno così ? grazie

Nemaj boja, pomerne casto preskakujem medzi editormi, ked je to nutne - stale su veci, pri ktorych sa inak spravaju. Pokial prave v danej oblasti nie je nejaky DB sync error, staci refreshnut ten editor, do ktoreho prechadzam (resp. Papyrus, u Cartouche obycajne staci re-zoom; ale "istota je gulomet"). Ciao a tutti, accorpo due domande su eventi che non mi sono chiari su waze:
1 - E' possibile fare il broadcast di una domanda alle persone che sono intorno? (Tipo: Sapete se il traffico in Via Roma è regolare o meno?)
2 - Quando mando un ping a qualcuno o qualcuno lo manda a me, o quando ci sono nuove segnalazioni, lo vedo solo quando sono fermo. Se sono in autostrada, può succedere che mi arrivi anche ore dopo.
C'è qualche impostazione per vederlo in tempo reale?

Ho l'ultima versione ufficiale su Android Galaxy S2

En non lus moi aussi je les ai tous, mais si tu veux pas t'embeter et ne suivre que certains post ou certains fil de discussion, tu vas dessus et en haut à droite de l'appli tu as une icône à cliquer qui te permet de surveiller seulement tel ou tel sujet ou post etc...

No worries. You are not the only one who has turned that setting on and been then questioning the routing.

Hopefully Waze removes this option soon, as they have agreed to do. Every day that Waze leaves this option in the settings is another day with Wazers who get routed incorrectly and falsely believe that Waze can't route them properly.

The fact there is reverse connectivity on those segments, and the edit dates on any of the segments match, means someone selected that junction and hit W, that clears all turn restrictions in every direction and "locks" the junction.

Example #2 also disagrees, and no reverse connectivity, however I don't know the lock status. I've restricted and allowed all turns with Cartouche_old so it definitely is locked now, so it can be rechecked once the map is updated past the 24th.

I would guess that the links pointing to MediaWiki are from when waze first set up a wiki on their server but forgot to change the default for hyperlinks.

The same login credentials for waze is used to login to the wiki. See if the username you're providing doesn't have an extra space at the end and that the upper and lowercase is the same as the login is case sensitive.

Make sure you are logging into the correct website.

This project has three main sites

"North America" (only US and canada) www.waze.com
"World" aka ROTW (rest of the world) world.waze.com
Israel www.waze.co.il (homeland for the waze project, hence why it still has it's own server)

Accounts are shared betwen www and world, and lots of links will take you only to the www server, but if you are in the world server your points/routes will only show there.

OK, vandaag de mega-update van de nieuwe editor. De Usernotez layer valt nu samen met de roads layer.... Niet handig.

Kun je dit fixen Jeroen? Voorlopig de extentie maar even uitgezet...

Verkeerde routering op knooppunten

Omdat het stil blijft van de kant van Dror, heb ik zelf wat aanpassingen gedaan op de N/Z route (A50) van knooppunt Beekbergen.

Als de regelmatige passanten over een week of 2 eens kunnen kijken hoe het gaat? Mochten er nog problemen zijn, dan graag een UR plaatsen. Met de nieuwe UR's kan ik dan direct zien of het nog speelt en Dror daarmee om de oren slaan.

Gli autovelox sono visualizzati nel verso giusto se fotografano la targa posteriore della macchina... quindi il pallino arancione deve essere rivolto nel verso di percorrenza della strada.

Se è girato dalla parte sbagliata, ti basta trascinare il pallino arancio nell'altro verso.
Se l'autovelox non è nella posizione giusta, puoi trascinarlo entro il cerchio più grande per posizionarlo meglio.

Papyrus è il nome del nuovo editor di mappe, a cui accedi normalmente dal link "aggiorna mappe". A differenza del vecchio editor Cartouche è più intuitivo, ma non tutte le funzioni sono abilitate. Quindi alle volte tocca usare ancora quello vecchio, raggiungibile solo tramite URL https://it.waze.com/cartouche_old/

Un sacco di "smudged cities" sulla mappa

da tempo mi chiedevo perchè un sacco di nomi di che non centravano niente con la mia zona di percorrenza continuassero a comparire sul client. Avevo cercato tutti i possibili segmenti sulla mappa, corretto tutti quelli che avevo trovato etc etc eppure questi rimanevano
Poi finalmente ho letto questo wiki http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Fixing_%22smudged%22_cities e seguendo le indicazioni ho finalmente capito come funziona.

Ovviamente il problema sono i nomi duplicati per via della miriade di comuni, paesi, frazioni che abbiamo in Italia e che man mano vengono aggiunti. Ma tracciano linee o a volte triangoli enormi sulla mappa. Faccio qualche esempio:
San Cassiano (LE) - San Cassiano (BZ) la linea si vede anche in Adriatico
Cavallino (VE) - Cavallino (LE) entrambi comuni
Maiano (UD) - Maiano fraz di Sant'Angelo Lodigiano (LO)
Il terribile triangolo di San Cipriano, che imperversa tra la Bolzano, lago di Garda e Venezia, ma che perfortuna qualcuno ha già iniziato a sistemare @Bollo: grazie
E moltissimi altri.

Visto che negli Usa son riusciti a metter dentro addirittura 51 stati nn è che da noi riuscirebbero a inserire una ventina di regioni al posto di Other così ci togliamo il problema?
Qualcuno glielo chiede a krankyd?
