Not just a chick thing Jen. I say something to the same effect... in less flowery language of course!

I can never settle on a template to use for stock replies, and end up creating a custom message for most UR replies. And the degree of verboseness vs terseness is in direct relation to my current mood.

I think I'll take another stab at this, and see if I can create some stock responses by borrowing from all the good ideas here.

I may also attempt to use the <table><tr><td><pre> tags to create a single box, and see how it looks in Cartouche.

Thanks everyone for sharing here, and here: Update Request Emails

Would anyone care to share how they leave UR notes to themselves?

I used to use "Note to GizmoGuy411:" as the lead phrase, and now just use, "Note to self:" since it is shorter and my name is already there anyway. I figure any AM reading it will either leave the UR alone, or send me a PM as I don't add my email address there.

I use the "Note to self:" prefix too.

If submitting new URs from the Livemap, I write my name as "Timbones (AM)" as well.

I don't do anything special. If someone else pounces on them first, that's fine. I still have the UR feed to give me the location and any notes and I can work on it when I wanna. I just won't get the closure points. No biggee.

I'm usually the first to pounce on any URs in my area except evening ones. I am quite sure I must annoy other editors who are marking for themselves. I'm so sad I like being online during the rush hour and try and solve problems before people get to the office/home. Bad form?

Hello,
Do you guys close out the reports if there is Missing Information. I have been sending responses requesting additional information and am marking the report as Missing Information. So my second question is how long do I wait for a response before going back to the report and Closing it out?

One last question. If the reporter replies to Waze will their response get routed back to us?

Thanks

Nothing wrong with that in my book ... then again, I'm the only AM covering most of my 19,000 square miles, so there's not a lot of competition for getting to the UR's in my area. :)

1. Yes, after a few days of no response.
2. I wait 5-7 days; others wait 10; it depends on the editor's preference.
3. No -- about the only way to get a reply (and even that doesn't work very often) is to include your email address in your "missing info" response.

Thanks,
I will have to create a separate email address just for that purpose.

i can vouch for these things, just started using them, and got 2 responses in 2 days, i only had 1 response to quite a few before, and the responses were either minutes, or within the day that i sent them
