I draw a massive long river then I get this error and I have to start all over

Does any body else get this or is it just me?

I've seen this a lot, and I've tracked it down to corners where two points cross over each other. WME really doesn't like Landmarks that become twisted (kinda hard to describe).

Solution is to check the whole stretch of river, looking for pairs of geometry points that are very close together. Usually found near sharp corners of the river, and you might notice a missing point nearby. Delete one of the pair, and save. Repeat as necessary.

That's true although it doesn't always help. And that's when it gets really annoying. Sometimes it just won't save no matter what you try.

For me at least it works.

I have to click "empty" after clicking apply (in the edit name mode) and then select the unsaved again.
THEN the street to river - button

Anyone can fix this script. It doesn't work with the recent WME.

The problem I'm getting is I don't have the 'street to river' button

Just rolled back the thread and found the lastest version. Somehow I previously downloaded from wiki that doesn't work...strange.

I also found it difficult. The upper left corner. :)

No because the plugin works only with new unsaved segments.

But you can add a new landmark with the same name to cover the missing part

Thanks Tom!

Here's a summary of the changes:
  • separate button to do 'Street to railway'
  • default width of 8m (if not set in road name)
  • creates landmark of type 'Other'
  • will work on existing railroad segments
