If you get in contact with them, you may want to let them know to add end-nodes on dead-end segments that they add.

Since their user name is likely their last name, you may be able to track them down via other methods 8-)

I've encountered their work all over the metro area. Would love to recruit some help with URs. 8-)

Oh Noes!

It's not like there's a shortage of things to fix, but this is going too far, and it's spreading. Need to get them on-board with the Wiki and forums ASAP.

Has anyone successfully gotten in touch? If they don't answer, maybe the only way to get their attention is to start deleting...

Rearranging the roads to read, "please read http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Best_map_editing_practice" (and locking them, of course) might get the point across. :)

On the other hand, we also don't want to discourage people from honing their editing skills in a "low-impact" way. Several intersections in my area have undergone "iterations" during my tenure, as I have learned better ways to do things. At some point, though, we do need to encourage people to move beyond the mechanics of the editor and the physical pavement, and start thinking in terms of the impact on the quality of the actual product (effective navigation for Wazers). Given the detail, I'd say this one is ready for "the nudge".

Do what you can to contact them, probably via PM is the only way right now. If you don't get an answer, start deleting. And make sure you edit/save other segments to be non-parking lot as per the general guidelines right now so if they check on them, your name will be there and perhaps they will contact you.

Am I the only person picturing an entire family of 8, sitting around a room, each with a laptop, drawing landmarks into Waze, fearing that if they stop, the world will come to an end?

FWIW, The Family is number 5 all-time editor in Colorado.

My attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful

Perhaps "The Family" is mainly interested in using Waze to find the fastest route out of town, and would rather keep a low profile. Just sayin'... ;)
