The information in currently in the Wiki was based on what was known a few days ago. This information is in flux and it appears based on the previous information in this thread posted by Sagi, that thing are going to be working differently than what is currently posted in the Wiki.

As you start working Update Requests in the new Waze Map Editor you will likely find that you can resolve many more of these with the included drive and route info. So this will minimize the need to interact with the Wazer who submitted the Map Issue.

In cases where you need to interact, forum PM is likely the best option at this time. (as already stated)

So this issue at the moment is do we Update based on what we know now or wait to see what happens over the next couple of days?

OK, I made some edits to try to explain the current Update Request situation as I understand it.

I made several edits after posting here. I updated the communication section a bit later.

Hopefully my edits are up to your standards ;)

Sagi, after you sync the Update Requests is Waze expecting Map Editor and Area Managers to work Update Requests in two systems? For example do we need to deal with all of the legacy Update requests in Cartouche_old?

Can you not just sync the Update Requests and then disable the Update Requests layer in Cartouche_old so that we can have all Update Requests in the new Wap Map Editor and deal with them there?

Two systems to work on Update Requests is causing a lot of confusion with the Waze Map Editors and Area Managers.

So has it been decided that the old Cartouche editor will not be retired at this point?

I hope what you mean is, closed UR's will appear closed in both, and open/new UR's will appear as open in both. Otherwise, new UR's won't appear in the old editor, making it impossible for AM's to respond/interact with the user submitting the report. Also we only have the ability to get a list of all open UR's in the old editor, so.. I think many AM's will still be switching back and forth between old and new for handling UR's. (old to find them, close them, and respond to the user. New one to take advantage of the easier editing, and the awesome new features to use gps tracks and waze route suggestions!

BTW: Kudos for implementing those 2 features. suddenly, the "general map error" reports with no comments become somewhat useful!

According to the wiki, we are supposed to use the old editor to interact with the user. My pont was more that: For us to do that, new and open requests need to appear in both editors. closed UR's should appear in neither. (IE, sync the info, not seperate it)
