Although keep in mind that the current Update Request mechanism in the new Waze Map Editor has no ability to send any custom email as Cartouche_old had. So at this point custom emails from the new editor are not possible.

Based on Sagi's response in another thread (link below), it does appear the Cartouche_old is not going away immediately and Waze is working on some method to sync the Update Request from the back end of each Map Editor. It that occurs, we can continue to use the available field in Cartouche_old to get a message to the Wazer that submitted the Map Issue (with limited success). Although we will then need to be working Update Requests in two map editors. The new Waze Map editor to see the valuable Drive and Routes data and Cartouche_old to communicate with the Wazer who initiated the Update Request.

Would also be useful if the emails had different subject titles to stop them grouping in gmail etc.

Definitely need unique subject lines based on the type of response being sent. I've been using HTML tags in my response to hopefully catch the user's eye when I need more info, but the response rate is pretty bad. Most people probably just delete the e-mail without looking at content when they see "map update processed".

Hopefully the new function in the editor to show the Waze route and user route will help clear up some of these, but it won't help when someone reports a missing road that they weren't driving on. For example, I've opened a couple of requests where I saw a non-existent road that was showing in the app. If there is no text to say which road is missing, the Waze route and user route will be the same if that non-existent road wasn't routed across so you won't necessarily know what is wrong.

That's not that much different from the old practice, at least as I was doing it ... using Cartouche_old to find, respond to, and close the requests, and Papyrus to implement the actual corrections (or most of them, at least). So, as long as they do have the UR's going to both Cartouche and WME, it won't be that much of a change ... but if they only send it to one of the systems, then we'll have some problems.

And yes, I know that really, there should be a change ... we should be able to do everything needed from WME, but that appears to be too complicated for Waze's software engineers to figure out. :?

Waze is an extremely small company and doesn't have the resources you might think they do. They do a pretty amazing job given the headcount. Being near #1 nav app in most stores above Google Nav is an amazing feat.

Sorry, just venting ... didn't mean any disrespect by it. Just seems to me that they should have been listening to the product's users instead of following their own ideas of how it should work and then apparently being shocked when they rolled it out and found out that what they thought was good enough wasn't going to work for those who have to use it every day. :?

What I am doing wrong? I can't currently figure how to even see the identity of the user submitting the request.

Did you read the documentation?

Probably you know exactly what you're doing, but today I find the usernames aren't showing at all for me.

Used to be a name after the date of the report "Reported On". Guess the fix for only a number showing was to remove it all together :?

Mostly just numbers for me but randomly seems to come back to names.
