@Jasonh300, in response to your question I am new to Waze and editing and only started with the new editor. I have just recently started trying to use cartouche in order to do things I assume are not possible in the new editor yet:
* Add house numbers (especially for new roads with no reference data on navigation for users)
* Edit the alternate street names
* Remove extra nodes in roads where they are unnecessary

One more: If wazer report an UR on Livemap, you can only see it on old cartouche.
I don't know why "D" was NOT working for me when I first tried it in the new editor, but I see it works for me now.

I use both interchangeably. Papyrus does not allow the capability to change the alternate road names as cartouche does. For example, a Main St that is also a state highway.

#1 - House numbers don't really make that much difference and are pretty much a waste of your time at this point. (Waze outsources its address lookups to Bing and/or Google.)
#2 - Yep, that can currently only be done in Cartouche.
#3 - Extra nodes can be removed in WME the same way that they are in Cartouche (hover and hit the "D" key).

I was indeed referring to something different. Geometry points are called "nodes"; the "superfluous nodes" that you mentioned are called "junctions", not "nodes".

But back to the point, yes, both nodes and junctions can be deleted easily in WME (nodes with the "D" key, junctions with the trash can icon or the "DEL" key).

In Sweden we don't have a basemap and most streets have no street numbers. Approx. half of the user requests that I solve are due to lack of street numbers. Users get directions to the middle of the street, gets annoyed and enter a user request with type "General error".
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Waze outsources its address lookups to Bing and/or Google."? I know you can perform a Google/Bing search in the client, but if I search for a specific address ("street 1, city") is Google/Bing involved?
I still use Cartouch for "Pending deletes" and street numbers. WME for everything else.

Press "?" to see all the keyboard shortcuts in the new WME.
