I was just digging on the wiki for some deeper information on the wiki regarding overpasses and levels. All I was able to dig up was
this documentCan anyone point me to some more details on levels?
I have a situation at this permalink that I believe might be caused by levels being messed up:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=9&lat=40.80516&lon=-73.28843&layers=BFTFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTFTWhat's happening is that if you go to the right on this fork the mobile app gives up and just recalculates the route. All of the turn restrictions appear correct so I'm left to think that is improperly looking at overpasses, etc. Should the rightmost road in the fork be the same level as the originating road?
There are always a ton of problems reported at this intersection and I'm trying to fix them once and for all.
Thanks for any advice.

Levels are pretty much irrelevant now. Pay attention to the connections rather than the levels.

Looks like Waze snapped them to the wrong segment. Waze thought they were on the service road when they weren't.

IOW, bad GPS reception or weak GPS hardware, which is a problem with most smartphones.

Why are levels irrelevant? Should all levels be set to zero?

It seems that Waze will not automatically junction roads anymore, so the levels aren't necessary for that anymore. But the levels are necessary for display purposes, even though that isn't working on the (iPhone) client anymore either.

Levels don't appear to affect the Android client display either (or the live map as far as I can tell). I had though that correct levels did help avoid map problem generation.

I think that it is premature to discard leveling. Setting proper road levels should continue until Waze confirms that road junctioning can no longer happen automatically and that they never intend to show the roads superimposed in the client correctly.
Edit - made some changes to clarify.

I agree. Level data (where accurate) is information about roads that Waze could use in some way; e.g., when a future 3D client is released.
