Are you Level 3 and did you tried to edit Level 4 locked segment?

No i'm 4 in deed, but 34529 from libora seems to be unlocked.

Very disheartened to see that area managers cannot fix all of a map.

I have found TONS of examples where higher level editors make many mistakes and lock roads when they should be locking them.

In fact after this update I went into the editor to see what is different.

The VERY FIRST road I picked had an error on it for improper turns (incorrectly) but I couldn't fix it because the road was locked.

Bad idea and is disheartening to say the least.

If you want me to manage an area you have to let me manage it.

I'm done with editing unless this gets fixed.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean, I'm in Colorado, there are countless low density residential areas that are locked or updated by someone that ranks higher than me and I can't modify anything. Seriously, half my state is locked where is shouldn't be, then you go over to the major interstate and it's unlocked!

I'm done as well until this is fixed/reversed.

At the very least, change the rankings. I think I should be able to override a locked roads with 20k updates, many users on here are so far past that, that I think they forgot 20k updates is still quite a bit and while we may not know as much, most people with that many updates show some dedication.

I don't know how many hours I've volunteered for editing (300 would be a conservative est.). I've already come across half a dozen segments that need editing but are locked by a higher level editor. No point in being an AM if this is what it's going to be like. Not wasting any more of my valuable time (wife will be happy), if this is not reversed.

Nice knowing you Waze!....... and good luck to those remaining (you're gonna need it).

EDITED. Now that I figured out the deal.

This statement is semantically incorrect. It SHOULD read, 'Update requests made from the livemap as of 8/12/2012 now appear on WME rather than Cartouche. Old user requests still remain on Cartouche and must be vetted there.'

How?

If I look at this permalink, https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=2&lat ... TTTTTTTTFT , I can see four URs in Cartouche (the livemap requests) at that location, but don't see them on WME. So how do I see them there?
New ones, presumably. Old ones would still be in cartouche.

Yeah, that's exactly what it does, on further experimentation. The email to user capability is not there, but that probably is something that needs to be generally added to ALL WME URs anyway.

...(Okay, I won't joke about this one, but seriously - can Waze port the existing Cartouche URs to WME, so we can once and for all retire the laborious process of finding them on Cartouche?)

For those who are curious, resolving the new WME forwarded URs produces the WME style 'solved' email to a user. So it seems that once you have hit 'submit' on the Livemap, it's completely a WME style user request. As of today they do not go to the old system at all either in creation or resolution process, so far as I can tell.

'The map problem you reported on Waze on Aug 12, (Test. Resolve when seen.) has been solved by skbun; a Wazer like you, who has become active in updating and improving the Waze map for the benefit of the entire community.' (WME style, and the one used for both UR submission methods as of 8/12)

Hello skbun,
You have recently sent the following update request:
TEST - ignore and resolve this problem when seen.
Your update was processed and the map changed accordingly. Thank you!
("Old" Cartouche style)

Oh boy!
waze, did you not learn your lesson the last time you messed with permissions? What I mean is when you changed the meaning of 'locked' and suddenly created the situation where roads locked by a (possibly new) editor according to your old policy, became to locked to a Level 2 editor because he had in the meantime become a Level 3.
This nearly caused me to give up on waze. Instead I became AM and could carry on editing. I now have over 60K edits and once again I am unable to edit properly.

And here's something you didn't think about when you made this latest change. If I disconnect a road from a locked segment and try reconnect it, then I cannot enable turns. I have just tested it and there is now a rather important off-ramp junction in the Cape Town area that is restricted, as is the straight route on to the next Freeway segment.

Wake up waze, you have really messed up here. I know it may take time to fix this, but I really hope you will very soon acknowledge your mistake, and give us an expected time to solve it.

In the meantime, I will probably not be doing much editing (if any) until I see what your intentions are. After all, what's the point of seeing a problem on the map if I can't do anything about it?

And please don't suggest posting unlock requests, I became AM to avoid that need.
