So the good news is that at the moment the road layer is popping up for me nice and quick. However there seems to be some sort of delay between saving changes and when they are reflected in the editor.

- Makes changes and save. Everything looks ok.
- Reload editor, changes vanish.
- Wait a few min and reload, changes show up.

It's the "However" that's at issue here. That word shouldn't need to be in there. But it is, because it's a seemingly flaky tool.

Apparently, Waze developers have a fondness for the by-gone analog TV bunny ears. Remember those? Remember when you could only get your favorite TV station when you took the bunny ears, stood on one foot and leaned to the left? Yeah, Waze map editing is a lot like that. Get on WME at 2AM, hop on one foot and poke yourself in the head with your own mouse. Then you'll be able to make six map edits. Quick, hurry, before it's 212AM - then it all stops working again for some reason!

Here's the funny part. This is so standard fare, its not even mention worthy on status.waze.com. No mention of map editing flakyness. It's only if it's completely down that it hits that page. But if the tool is virtually useless, that's ok.

Once again kids, this is with 20 million users while Waze appears to be actively seeking huge upticks in the user population (see my earlier citation of Waze/Facebook interactions). Just wait to see what this activity is like with 10x the user population.

It was ok for a while, but now I get regular sloooooow loading of road images and lots of pink tiles.

Too late. It's all slow and pink for me.

Sigh....ditto.

Did I say up to 1/4 of the time there's an issue? Perhaps I should have said 1/4 of the time, it works.

If you're lucky!

I got an idea....since trying to edit seems a lost cause at this stage. Waze should just send us an E-mail when things are right again (as opposed to endless editing madness)

According to this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13191

that form is no longer to be used, instead we need to open a ticket with Waze.

Are they freakin nuts!? We're basically their product development and qa team already. Now I have to be the "Waze is annoyingly slow" alert system too? Don't scripts do this? I'll bet that for a few bananas, you could hire a shaved ape to build a script which would try to login to WME and make a test edit. If it takes more then 30 seconds to perform that action, guess what that means?

Same here, it's not working or insanely slow more often than it's working normally anymore.

I think they're pinching penny's on AWS resource.
