How can I divide/separate/split/ cut in half a segment?

Hi!
I could not find anything about this in the Wiki or the forum:
How can I separate a segment in two segments?
I'd like to edit an existing street that starts as a street and at a point continues as a private road. I want to change the street type accordingly.

Add a junction node. Click add road and start on the segment in on spot, go up and around and double click on the segment where you want it to end. Delete your temporary road and you should have 2 more intersection nodes. Now change your segment.

Great, thanks! While reading your answer I remember I must have read it before somewhere and forgot. A shortcut key or button to do this would be a simple solution but this workaround works also.

It used to be a single step in the old editor, but took a long time to save and having it so easy, for some reason, caused people to add junctions for no reason.
