According to this document from USPS (dated April 2012)
That being said, many cities and towns are officially removing non-numerical characters from addresses for various reasons. Several years ago my address changed because the new 911 system the town installed couldn't support non-numerical addresses (my neighbor's old address number was 52A which caused a domino effect down the street).

shirlig wrote:Hi guys,
We'd like to change the house numbers mechanism in WME from editing by ranges to editing pinpoints.
As we can't work on the new mechanism while the old one is active, we will need to temporarily remove the house numbers section from the editor.
We will start working on it in the upcoming days and we estimate that it will take about a month to reactivate house numbers in its new format.
We will provide a 24 hours notice before it's removed.
Thanks,
Shirli
So when is this going to start? There is of course a couple more "upcoming days" ahead...
I believe that there's no idea to add house numbers now with the old system? Or can you somehow import them to the new system?

While localities are removing non-numeric street addresses, there are a still a lot of them out there and will be for quite some time.

How should we respond to Incorrect house number user reports? Fixed and do nothing or Not identified and do nothing?

The same problem as with just a bi-polar UR response world...
...with the good old
Symbian 2.1.99.114 (N-E52),
while trying to get used to Android 3.6.xx.yyy (SG-A2).

In case of house nos. UR if the user have mentioned any updated info. about the house nos. then after reconfirming it with the local data you update and solve the UR but if nothing is mentioned and you are not confirmed about the correct house nos. you can leave it as not identified.
Other user may have different opinion about this issue.

Funny answer.. Why would I edit numbers, if in this topic it is stated, that they are offline.
