Which map? If you mean on the phone, you can change the setting from meters to miles. If you mean the live map on the website, make sure you have the United States selected as your country on the upper left of the waze home page.

Actually you drive a distance and that distance is shown in kilometers or miles. The distance itself is actually the same
But I get you, I don't want to see kilometers either even though I often drive in Mexico which is kilometers vs. the United States of America, which is miles.
You'll like this one though. I 'read' the speed limit signs in Mexico as Miles per Hour vs. Kilometer's per Hour !
My phone displays in miles, that's OK. It's my computer that is in kilometers, and I do have US selected as my country. (I like to use it to track my husband's trip home from work and warn him of problems -- he does not know how to use a smart phone.)
Apparently not. I had started out on the right one when I bookmarked the page (distance in miles then). The default location was/is United States. When I followed your link to "North America" I was back to miles. Thanks. Hope I don't get transported again.
