Adding friends ?

I am relatively new to waze and have enjoyed it this far. Recently, I had a friend join waze, but I can't figure out how to add her as a friend. I have two friends right now and I am not sure who they are. Please help me understand how to add friends. Thank you!

For now you can add them only through facebook.
I also hope, in the future versions, to add them without FB.

There is a 'manage friends' section under the "Friends & Foes" tab in the User Control Panel. You can add and delete friends there.

Is this just for the forums section posts or does this have anything to do with the points received by adding 5 friends?

That is only for the forum. To get the 5-friend bonus points, you must have a Facebook account connected to your Waze profile, then get five Facebook friends who have Waze. Once you have the five, go to your Waze profile, and disconnect and reconnect Facebook. (You should do this on both www.waze.com/dashboard/ and world.waze.com/dashboard/.) Then you should receive your 5-friend bonus candy the next time that you drive with Waze.
