Uh-oh could not find nearby gas stations

I live in a heavily populated area of Mesa, AZ, with gas stations within a mile of me to the east, west and north. I installed the new version today that is supposed to display gas prices. I tapped Gas Prices and got the message Uh-Oh! cannot find nearby gas stations. Why is that?

Waze requires you be near the gas station to report prices. You do not know the prices of the station a mile away. This is called cheating. 500 meters is the current limit.

If you're just searching for prices, use Categories in the Navigation menu. The Report menu is, shockingly, for Reporting gas prices.

Waze imported gas stations from another source. It's entirely possible that every gas station in every area is not part of this initial data.

Waze has stated that they plan to add additional functionality to add / correct gas station locations in the future.

Confirmed. No gas station landmarks around me, and plenty of gas stations appear on the map.

On a related note. Is there any hope that future updates will include gas stations up here in the 51st State (according to Waze) of Canada

. BP, Texaco, and others don't exist up here.

Here's hoping for fully user-input-able gas station functionality.

The USA is the initial pilot country. Waze will be expanding this functionality to more countries eventually. Waze still has to build an interface to maintain the gas station list, brands, address, fuels provided so that Wazers can begin to populate the prices.
