You have permissions to edit the map. The problem seems you do not understand how.

I have the same issue. I have bin driveing for 3 month but still saying, no drives, you are not able to edit the map.
Why, what and when....

There is definitely a demand for a Waze functionality companion app for walkers, joggers and bicyclists.
