Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel

Postby tibble » Thu Mar 22, 2012 12:32 pm

Theres no virginia section so i'm posting this here. I was about to clean up the bridge-tunnel and wanted to check with everyone to see what i should name it.

I'm inclined to name it US-13 S/N like the rest of 13 that i just finished cleaning up, but it would probably be more helpful to have the popup alerts say that it's the bridgetunnel.

Maybe I should make the city Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel? That way it will get the shield on the map but the popups would say:
Moderate traffice
US-13 S, Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
Average speed 9 mph

?? I know it's not standard but would work?

Hmm, I see your point. I'm not sure what you would do with a pop-up indicating a 9mph on the Bay-Bridge Tunnel. Its not like there is an alternative route. On the other hand, it would useful information to know that a delay is on the Bay-Bridge Tunnel rather than some other portion of US-13 where a detour likely would be possible. I'm trying to come up with some disadvantage to having a city of Bay-Bridge Tunnel in the waze city layer. I can't really come up with any as long as city area is limited to area over the water.

Hmm, i was going to say i hope the city layer doesn't update and have it as a polygon, but that might be kinda cool :)

I know it's non-standard and i think thats the biggest mark against it, and might be reason enough.

All of this will be moot when we have a shield option of course, and i'd immediately go back and fix it but until then.....
