Map changes not reflecting on client

Postby dennisvnel » Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:59 pm

I have made various changes to the maps, along the routes that I travel daily, but they are not reflecting on the client! Is there a reason for this?

The one is in Westcliff along Westcliff Drive where it meets with Tyrone Avenue, this should be a roundabout, and I have changed the map, but it doesn't reflect on my client.

The other is in JHB City, traveling along Joe Slovo Drive in a northerly direction, it routes me left onto Fox. This is incorrect as Joe Slovo is about 15 meters above Fox street! I have changed the intersection to no right turn, but it still routes me via this route every day!

The map area around Joe Slovo is totally incorrect. Joe Slovo drive is an elevated highway from the south where it joins the M2, upto Mosely Street going north, and from Error Street going south. There are streets that run below Joe Slovo on ground level, that don't reflect on the maps.

I have also changed some streets around ABSA in the city which incorrectly show as one way's and the changes also don't reflect on the client.

Is there a problem with the updates pushing to the client?

Thanks

When did you make these changes? The last map update was run on the 10th of April.

If you go to live map, it shows the last map date.

Thx for the prompt response @achuman.

The changes were made on 18 April. And you are correct, the changes reflect on Live Map.

Do you know when the next map update run will be?

Cheers

Looks like someone added a junction. Wish people would check the level before randomly adding junctions! I have removed the junction for now. I have locked the portion of the road so this should help out

Mind helping me fix it?

I believe this is now mapped correctly.

Is this southbound section not called Sivewright Ave anymore?

Yeah. These are difficult to map out as you cannot put the roads on top of each other. I added this street a while back, but someone has gone and deleted it. Please have a look and see if you agree with my understanding of how this road works.

As creating two one way portions on either side of the bridge will just create a mess, I have opted for a single road. Imagine the Joe Slovo overpass not being there, then this is simply a road with a small medium and therefore should only be mapped with a single road. The road is placed slightly off to allow for editing (and visibility). This is similar to how the M1 is mapped (Southbound, Northbound and Street are all on top of each other).

I believe there is another ramp that joins Joe Slovo in the right hand lane just before Moseley. I have left this road out on purpose as I feel mapping it will only clutter the map. Waze should snap to the left hand "ramp" road anyway.

Feedback/comments/suggestions welcome. I will lock these roads on or before 1 June depending on the feedback received to avoid them being deleted again.

Hey Guys,

Next map update will be this weekend (6 May 2012). All changes before 1 May 2012 will be updated.
The delays are due to the split process of the waze infrastructure, which is still being implemented.
