I was generalizing only so far as the idiots who do stupid things as being discussed in the ET english thread in the editing forum.

Points-per-something limitation is a possibility.

Some of us are real editors and miss the days when we actually saw ourselves on the scoreboard at all!
Those tools can be used for good but only in exceptional circumstances (like smudges).
I don't see the fascination in points anyway, its a satnav. When points can be exchanged for pennies, then I'll be more inclined to change my mind ;-)

People who are concerned enough with points to "cheat" to get them, need to get a life.

People who are concerned enough with if other people are "cheating" to get their points, need to do the same.

Just practice out of the city until you know 100% how tools work, please. it is not hard to use how everyone says, but just in case (so you dont mess up the map). There are videos and "howtos" about a few tools too. Other engineers in the community can tweak the extended tools and add better scripts to speed up his editing experiences, but that is another thing.

I have 930000 points, but I never used additional tools.

Well, my point of view is ET is not a bad tool by itself, but maybe it shouldn't be available for unexperimented users. ET doesn't have to be used in every situation, and must be used carefully when needed.

People who just use it to "hack" ot "cheat" like you say haven't understood anything about the Waze concept.

By the way, even if the map is pretty good now, there are still a lot of things to improve. This kind of tool can be usefull in some situations.

Everyone over 100k points per week is subject in an inquiry, enhket. This guy is a professional "search engine optimizer" with time on his hands: http://wwwnnnado.com/, playing the Waze-scoreboard like he does play google's website rankings. I doubt he is still on any list next week. Wasn't this the game you expected as you advertised ET?

i dont think he used ET only. In my opinion you cant break the 150-180k mark with ET even if you edit all day (weekly). The ranking should be limited. As example, there are the mmorpg's, when you start, you cant go and kill a level 100 monster, you have to kill the low level ones. I mean, people who are experienced, get to earn more points than newcomers. As the newcomers get formed, they are allowed to earn more points.

That would be cool in Waze, if you are a 600k map-edits editor, you should have an earning %, which is higher than someone who got 50k. Not sure how fair that is, but looks nice to me.

Of these, nearly 250,000 points yesterday. 250 000 points in one day. Someone still doubts that such points can be earned not only honest way?
