The best thing to do is ask. I used to ask for 20 permalinks at a time, but a lot of that was open ranch/farm land around the small Texas towns. I would ask for 3 towns at a time, but snag the areas around them. It does take time, and the responses were usually given in about 48 hours or so. I do know of someone who just did that and was denied. They told him he needs to gain some experience in editing and when he has more edits, he can request that many again. He then requested the two towns he drives in constantly and got those approved, so he's working his way through both of those towns...which happen to be in West Texas.

Sorry if I missed it, but who do I ask if I want to request a larger area? I'd like to get access to most of Southern CA and part of Northern CA without having to submit hundreds of permalinks.

Thanks!

Use the same contact info as before, submit 4 lat/lon coordinates of a rectangle/parallelogram (no fancy shapes) and ask that they replace your current AM areas with the one single one.

I normally use the google docs form...no room for comments in there.

Also, just so I understand correctly, I do four permalinks at the four corners of the area I want to manage, and ask for the whole thing in the center to be assigned?

Yes, but you need to make sure you add the note to replace all current AM area with the new lat/lon-defined one. There are known issues with permalink-based AM areas+lat/lon-based area. Not sure why, but doing it the "clean" way works reliably.

Fill out the Google docs form over and over and over with 4 different permalinks at a time. But make sure you clear out each permalink and put in a new one.

Alan suggested there was a much more efficient way.
