Only ever get 1 route to "choose" from

When specifying a destination, I realised that I only get 1 route to "choose" from. This is whether I'm going to a regular destination (eg home) or going somewhere new.

Is it just me?

Waze does only give you one route to start with, which is supposed to be the best route give the preferences you have set. What happens if you select Routes from the main menu? Is it there you are getting only a single route?

I should have been clearer in my post. Yes, under "Routes" is where I am seeing just 1 route. Have reviewed my preferences, can't determine which one would enforce this.

Depending on the starting point and destination, and the state of the map in the area, there may only be one route Waze can find. Also, if the distance between the start and end point is fairly short, line under a mile or so, Waze may also only give a single route as the time difference between optional routes may be extremely small.

If you can create a route from the LiveMap and share the route here, we can also check into the map along the route or in the area to see if there may be issues. Once you have the route displaying, do not pan or change anything, but right-click the little Wazer icon and copy the link. That link will contain the info so that when someone else uses it, Waze will build a route from it.

I'm not familiar with the method of creating a route.
Do you mean just use the "Get directions" to show the route Waze suggests?

I used the following:
From: 49 Boulcott Street, Wellington, New Zealand
To: 33 Bowen street, Wellington, New Zealand

This is a good example of where I would expect at least one of the method of getting there.

I have not checked the edit map to see if there are any issues, but I suspect that this distance or time is just too short for Waze to bother with finding alternate routes. Unless there are significant delays on this route, then it isn't likely that an alternate route will save you much more than a few seconds.

Please ensure that you review the editing manual, link in my sig, before spending too much time making what you might believe are good and valid changes. Again, I must reiterate that I think this time/distance is too short for any alternate route to be significantly shorter or faster so Waze doesn't propose them.
