On my way into work each morning, waze has been suggesting that I turn off the main road (Red Hill Rd / Miracle Mile), which moves along nicely through there, onto this residential side road (Greenfield). It is quite insistent. I ignore waze's directions, and after each intersection it recalculates and asks me to make the next right.
I've looked into it and I think I may have discovered why. On the Live Map, if I click on the road segment labeled Miracle Mile it says average speed 0mph on some of the segments. If I click on Greenfield it varies from about 30 to 40 mph. I wonder if the data for the two roads (which are closely parallel) have been mixed up in the database due to inaccurate gps readings? Anyway, being very new to map editing, this one is out of my depth.
here is maps.google of the preferred route,

here it is of the waze recommended route.

Similar thing happens to me along the freeway. It asks me to get off the 580 and get right back on at the same interchange. There I haven't found anything out of the ordinary about the map or the road properties.
This is how it wants me to go:
