Facebook group founded for Wazers in Malaysia, please join!

This group is to create greater awareness for Waze, the free social GPS turn-by-turn navigation software for iOS, Blackberry, Android and Symbian phones. As Malaysia is still in the status of building up the custom map through it's own users, otherwise also known as Wazers, it's in the interest of the whole community to get as many users as possible to keep Waze running on their mobile phone whilst driving. This group will keep you up-to-date with latest developments on Waze, be it new version, capabilities and map development. Please spread the word about the advantages of Waze vs regular GPS tools like Garmin and TomTom, which besides price (Waze is free), worldwide map availability (Waze works all around the world) is also in it's realtime traffic updates which is being done in the background whilst you're driving. Should you miss a certain street or landmark from Waze in Malaysia, please post it here so that area managers can create it for you. All content on Waze maps is created by users (Wazers) themselves, please also acknowledge their work. To download the software direct your mobile directly to: http://m.waze.com

We need as much as we can. Anybody can recruit by just simply showing the benefits of Waze to them when they drive.

Please all consider to have a mobile phone holder with suction cup whilst driving, making it more secure. Cost is RM10 in Low Yat, maybe even cheaper, prevents from accident/injury and let's you always have best GPS reception possible.

If you're there, you might want to get a car charger for longer trips above 3 hours or so (that's how long my phone lasts on Waze)

Do anyone know anyone in the "Eastcost Malaysia" Group. I was looking for a group around my area that I could join.

I'm a newbe, any help would be appreciated. Just tried Waze about a week ago, really like the idea but still a lot need to be done before it can be as usefull as other GPS such as Garmin.

Like I said in our Facebook forum, get your friends interested on Waze as well. Onl if there are many users it makes sense, agreed, as otherwise you're the only one reporting jams. Secondly, drive around with Waze turned on all the times, so that eventually all streets are recorded, but don't forget you or someone else in that local region has to turn the GPS trails into proper roads (with names, right direction, correct layout and connected to other roads)! That is done in the map editor Cartouche. Check our Facebook forum and in this official Waze forum as well for how to use Cartouche properly.

Good luck and welcome to the Waze community, it always starts with one person, maybe you're the one in Kerteh?!

Easy to do that. Two ways:

1) Write him a PM here in this Waze forum, using his username "Karsiong"

2) Go to our FB forum, he's a member in our group and his full name is Chong Kar Siong. Either send him direct message through FB or through this system, but FB is most likely to be read I've found out in his case.
