Try Settings > Advanced > Data transfer > Refresh map of my area.
Failing that: Uninstall Waze, remove Waze SD files, reboot device, re-install waze on Wifi if possible.

You have the latest Android Gingerbread firmware (2.3.6) for your device so that shouldn't be a problem.
If your device is rooted with custom fonts this may also cause an issue.

Re-install replaces corrupted files, thus the reasoning behind such a measure.

Street Names are Weird

Postby fjlaso » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:05 am

Hi, I downloaded Waze for my new Samsung Galaxy S5360 with Android OS 2.3.6 and I use it in Quito, Ecuador. The street names are written in letters that I don't understand. Waze used to work fine on my previous phone (blackberry pearl) and the street names were legible.
Thanks!

I don't see how a reinstall would help here. It may be a UTF-8 problem which Waze are aware of in the betas. Is there a local sub forum you could use to see if others in your country have this issue?

Fair enough, could also be a localisation problem.
