change username

Hello!

I definitely love Waze! I am a newbie though and I now want to change my username without losing my data. Is this at all possible?

Unfortunately, Waze have temporarily disabled the ability to change username, while they improve the infrastructure.

But why some people have theis username changed and I can't?
I already see many people who dont have the world_XXXXX username anymore, and they joined the waze after me. How this is possible?

1) You probably signed up for Waze using your Facebook account, instead of creating a Waze account and then linking it to your Facebook account.
2) Have you contacted support to change your username?
