I can see the possibilities of Waze integrated into something sure, but not Facebook....

Into Apple's new navigation or google maps, but why would facebook??

Currently cross-platform. Merge into iOS Maps of Google Maps and you automatically restrict to one eco-system.

I share the sentiment of the first comment after the article.

I can just imagine the thumbs-up icons would be replaced with a blue 'Like' button in all of the notifications....

I'm not sure that is the answer either, Waze is only as effective as the crowd (i.e. crowdsource information is what makes the app so effective) Making it Apple only cuts off half your crowd, leads to a less effective app.

For instance I got the app when it first came out, I live in the Washington DC/Northern VA area. I ran it for a bit then gave it up, there just wasn't many people running it. A year later I gave it another go, it was and is amazing as there are upwards of 3000+ people using it at rush hour two times a day here.

Having all the android or apple users cut off wouldn't be good.

Course if they could integrate the traffic from google maps or IOS6 maps into waze that might not be so bad.

Sure, sell something tangible to Facebook (like what Waze is doing with Apple - selling them traffic data)... Don't sell the whole company to them... Facebook has been collapsing since it went public...
