I'm not seeing anything which would be causing that 'f'.

You need a SmudgeHunter badge.

No and no way.

It is a city smudge as already stated.

Sounds like it could be an erroneous city name to me. Can you provide a
permalink to the general area?

Obviously, I am a totally green newbie so take anything I say with a ginormous salt lick.

When navigating, every once in a while a lower case 'f' appears on the map. Usually in open areas between streets. I have only noticed this in night mode. A couple times I have driven towards the 'f' to see what it could be, and just when I should be aproaching whatever it may be indicating it disappears.

Here's a screen capture. Notice the f in the upper part below the San Antonio.
And again, when I tried to get closer to it, it disappeared.

Editors color scheme on the client shows it as a long north/south smudge. Trying to follow it now...
Edit 1: Northern end was
this segment in Forth Worth added in July. Now fixed.
Edit 2: Souther end I can't track down for sure. I lose track of it around Ft Sam Houston and
this segment which someone edited just yesterday.
If that second segment was the culprit, the f should go away the next time the city layer is updated.
