I hope it will never happen. Apple's stalinian policy is the complete opposite of the waze project. Android users would be screwed, and they are more than 50pc of the community.
OTOH I believe Waze's goal is to become the prominent actor in the mapping industry along telnav or Google. Why ruin it by selling the company to Apple which is slowly but surely declining? 'take the money and run' is IMHO the opposite of entrepreneurship.

What would happen to the community? Editors?
Maybe I'm not being fair because I hate everything Apple with a vengeance, but they are not used to sharing or relaxing control. They might freeze mature maps and do the editing and handle URs IGN style.

Good question. No more edition for me as long as waze hasn't confirmed the rumor is not true. I don't want to work for Apple.

Goodness. There is an amazing amount of vitriol toward Apple hereabouts. I have usually only encountered that level of venom toward Microsoft.
Geez, folks. It's just an operating system.

It's not just an Operating System though, it's a walled garden.
Can't see it myself. We've been here before.

As an Apple guru myself (fanboy if you wish) it is intriguing. But I wouldn't want Apple to ruin the gaming, social, and crowd sourcing of waze. I fear they would kill map editing. Boo.

I'm with jmp316 on this one. I have been a pretty loyal Apple user/stock owner...but...I have sold my stock in Apple as I feel they are not the company that they previously were.
I would rather Waze continue along as they have been without Apple having ownership/oversight.

I would hate it if apple acquire Waze. Android support would surely disappear at somepoint which would leave me looking for another app to use on my daily commutes.
