New roads don't stick

Postby rgud » Sun Dec 05, 2010 8:40 pm

Hi!

I have been paving some new roads, and they are then shown in red color. However, a few days later they are gone. As I understand it, it should not be necessary to edit the roads in the web interface (which is really cumbersome btw) to add new roads to the database. Any thoughts on why this happens?

Thanks,
/Roland

This happened to me too. Of the 6 roads I paved (confirmed as red paths in the phone client), only the first 3 roads were apparently saved and made editable.

Bump. Waze has been "forgetting" all new roads for me lately.

See post viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6285&p=46924#p46924

Depending on if your area has base maps or not, you may be required to put some final touches on a recorded road to make it permanent.

According to that, roads should stick for 30 days, not just a few days. There problem with paved roads is still there.

Hi guys,

Please give us more details about this issue so we can't check this out more thoroughly.
Where is this happening? (Country, City..)
When did you last record roads and noticed they've been deleted?
Also add a permalink to illustrate the problem.

Thanks,
Perlin

Some clarifications.

The roads stick for 30 days in the map editor (aka cartouche), but on the mobile app they stick until the map is refreshed which can be much less.
So are you guys referring to the mobile app or the map editor? (perhaps the answer is different for each of you)

At any case, as support already mentioned, which countries are guys driving in?

Just happen to me too in last 2 days. All of my new track roads in December 17 and 18, 2010 still not shown in Cartouche. Before this, before 24 hours it shown in Cartouche.

I'm tracking and editing in Samarinda, Indonesia with iPad 3G
I only get some small track recorded and shown in Cartouche for two days near my home when I open the App to browse the Map.

[update] my December 19, 2010 shown today. So I lost the two days before.

Hey sandjaja,
What you are describing seems to be different then what the previous problems were, so let me see if i understood correctly.

Which of the two options below best describes the problem you are facing?
1. You cannot see the drives from December 17,18 on the dashboard and/or in the archive panel in the Cartouche and cannot access them at all (and the roads you created are not showing either).
2. You *can* see the drives from December 17,18 on the dashboard and/or in the archive panel in the Cartouche, but the new roads that these drives created are not showing up as (red) roads on the Cartouche.

I think the problem you are describing is (1) and the problem described by robgus and rgud is more in the spirit of (2). Am i correct?
