Symbian is no longer on the waze roadmap I'm afraid!

Therein lies your problem. so many symbian devs have jumped ship since February 2011 that there are too few to support the OS now anyway!

http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Mobile-and-Wir ... et-828841/With Nokia still being the overall leader in handset sales and the growth of smartphone saturation in emerging markets, it would seem foolish to think that users wouldn't stick with their beloved ( and yes Nokia feature phone owners LOVE their handsets) Nokia as they upgrade.
*facepalm*

Although the IDC Nokia data that was linked to includes a significant number of feature phones vs. Smart Phones that can run Waze. Also, keep in mind that Nokia itself has abandoned Symbian and sales of Symbian enabled Smart Phones are in decline vs. iOS and Android Smart Phones which are gaining market share.

That being said: Nokia Belle (Symbian Belle) is a BIG upgrade for Symbian users that will likely draw a few people that way. Me for one (after using Android for two years +).
Is there no way to get Waze development going for Nokia Belle, maybe a community effort or something? I would be willing to help, but that would probably stop at making a Dutch translation since I do not know any programming

Still I think it is too bad. The people developing Waze for Symbian have not jumped ship, I suppose they are now just programming for a different platform. But it's no problem asking them to spend a little time trying to see if they can get v3 working on Symbian.
Or maybe even talk to Nokia about using Waze features/info/data in their own Ovi maps app. That way Symbian, Android and WP7 would benefit...

If the issue is with something that is map related, the server based... incorrect map, routing, etc, then those will continue to get better, as either route analysis corrects things, map edits are manually done, or the routing code is improved (as that is server based)
Just at this point there is no future client enhancement or fixes for this platform.
