The popups are bright and this can interfere with night vision accomodation. A mode that would be "night vision" would be great.

Where do you get that from? Usually, IF a Uservoice-entry ever gets the attention of the Waze-HQ they MIGHT put a marker in it showing that it is "under review", like in
this entry which is "under review" since april 2011. There is none such in this case.

I think they are not updating uservoice regularly. many of prosals are already implemented, but not marked so. rumors are that others are under development, but no sign of it in uservoice. I commented about this in sticky topic here and also PM'ed KrankyD... no reply so far.

it was like 35 few days ago, but if someone advertises an idea in local (country) forum, numbers increase rapidly in few days, such as in this case... many of beta testers request night mode for whole app UI for long time, but no official statement it is being discussed or developed yet.

This is the response from Waze:
"
Currently the limit is 1000 miles.
The limit was set by Waze in order to prevent overload on the servers.
Waze hardly see navigation requests that exceeds the 1000 miles limits."Therefore, I don't expect to this change in the near future.
My suggestion to them was this:
"when Waze gets a routing request over 1000 miles, it would break apart and make it so that 2 or 3 routes. When you reach the end of your first one, you can choose the second one and so on."

So, the other night I had a Taco Bell ad pop up while I was driving... it was like someone suddenly shining a flashlight in my eyes while I was making a turn. This really needs to change. If not for any reason other than liability.
Here's a link to the entry at User Voice. More votes will raise the level of visibility on this feature request/defect.
