A minor quible but one that can be a show stopper to a new map editor.
When placing a new road segment in the editor the control to "end" road placing (mouse double click) is non-intuitive. Using the double click function in a browser window is extremely rare to most users. I'm not a novice computer user and I found it very strange. I kept trying to use the Enter key or Insert key or I kept looking for a confirmation button in the editing window.
Even if the double click function is the best way to complete a road segment, it's documented very poorly. I watched the map editing instructional videos several times and there is no mention made of it. I eventually figured it out from the wiki.

There's no way a few-minute-long video is going to get the information required to edit. When I first started editing, it was actually quite intuitive and I never had to read anything to figure it out.
Shift-click is what I prefer to end segment drawing.

Just my opinion but I found the editor far more intuitive than the Google Maps editing tools. Far more intuitive, easier to use and quicker to learn.
