I've done ~4 hours on Waze editing so far this week and got appox 4000 points but the top 5 Wazers have over 100,000 points. There is editing but to get to that level you would need to do ~100 hours.

My average input is 15-16 Hours a day. That works out to 105 Hours a Week. Exceptions being Sat evenings and Sunday Mornings.

See the
Waze Wiki .
The most points you can get are from editing, depending on where you life and how many UR's there are, you can get many points.
I know also a truck driver that gain much points just because he drive's a few thousand kilometers in week.

I dont get why people like to call you a truck driver if you get a lot of points a week. Driving for points is a big fail. Let's say, if it is a turnspike and you are going insane which makes you drive 20 hours every day then you can get... what? 300 points max a hour? 6000 every day? that is just 42k a week. You can get a half of that a day from editing if you go insane as cherianchris
You may edit for 3 months, save candies, go on holiday and get points from candies only and they could certainly never run out.
