Adding "Large Pothole" to the hazard list

Large Potholes are a threat to vehicle and passenger safety in regions that are at risk for this phenomenon. The NorthEast of the United States is such an "at risk" region.

How about adding LARGE POTHOLE to the options on the Hazards list on the client?

There already is a "Pothole" listed on the Hazard menu. This should be used to flag things out of the ordinary in your local area. For example, in the Northeast where we get lots of snow & ice & cold, we get potholes all the time, most are small and just give us a little bump, we only flag the BIG ones that can really damage a vehicle. In a place where potholes aren't an everyday thing, they may flag all of them.

Exactly. The regular "pothole" report isn't meant to notify the road maintenance crew of a divot in the pavement; unless it's already big enough to affect traffic, it shouldn't be reported. With that in mind, anything that would qualify as a "large pothole" would probably cause a road closure.

(The ability to report a road closure--and any approval process involved, and its possible effects on routing--has been discussed several times, and I believe is at least under consideration for the near future.)

Why don't you write "LARGE POTHOLE" or anything that you need driver needs to know in the "share details here..." area just before you post "pothole on road"
