Hi everyone I just wanted to introduce myself... I'm Michael Bray, an AM in the Orlando area.
I've been a wazer for a relatively short time (since around July), but since then I have been hooked. I quickly decided that I wanted to contribute to the community so I became an area manager and since then I've been going bonkers (much to the dismay of my wife) working on closing out old update requests. I also realized that given waze's model for allowing AM's to "own" the same area, there was the potential for AM's to step on each others toes and so I decided to try to organize us a little bit, and thus this forum. I kind of feel like I'm running my own personal beta that perhaps Waze will take note of and will become more of the norm across the US.
A little about me - I am about 40 years old, an IT professional (programmer by nature), working in the Orlando area. I have a 5 year old daughter that is as cute as a button and a wonderful wife that is the light of my life. I play walleyball and racquetball when I can find time for exercise, although I've been considering taking up biking (in areas that waze doesn't have maps for).
I look forward to hearing from anyone in Florida that is an area manager or who would like to become one. Waze is truly community-supported GPS mapping and can only be as good as the people who support it!
