I'm not drunk...I'm using Tapatalk.

The proximity sensor on the iPhone. It should have no bearing on how I use Waze, and yet, Waze is responding to its input.

Answered above, but again: On the iPhone, go into settings
then choose voice commands.
Either turn off voice commands or change activation to "3 finger tap only"

Even if you turn voice commands off, the bug will still occur and this has been tested by me and at least proven in my case through trial. Only setting the activation to "3 finger tap only" will solve the issue, regardless if voice commands is turned on or off.

At night, the screen dims, but also dims every other application.... Is that by design?

My goal:

- data cable plugged in (for charging of phone)
- Waze directions over bluetooth
- listen to radio

This does not happen. If the data cable is plugged in, Waze talks over that connection, even if 'Prefer Bluetooth' is selected.

As it stands, there are only two situation under which I can hear Waze:

- do not use the data cable
- use the data cable and stream audio from my phone.

Ideas? Suggestions?

iOS Version 3.1 Feedback Thread

I stream audio from my phone but haven't tried with blue tooth. I usually use the tape adapter that hooks into my 3.5 connector on my iPhone.

That's the iOS brightness setting you have selected.

Interesting.

Why does only Waze activate this dim?

I will experiment tonight. I have turned the brightness to max and turned off auto-dim.

Re: Req: Audio priority setting

DaCarMan wrote:Hi,

I love Waze. And with the TomTom Car Kit it gets even better. However, I'd like to see a change in how the audio output is handled.

My Setup:
TomTom Car kit. iPhone paired with BT headset and Car Kit. Also the TomTom kit is connected to my car stereo.

Request:
I'd like to be able to set the priority for which audio device to use for output, not just BT or speaker priority.

With this feature I would prioritize the car kit so I can listen to music or take calls and hear Waze through the car kit at the same time.

iOS handles the audio for the most part. Each app can specify what output to use, but iOS limits one output at a time. If apps are set to use the same output, the audio will be ducked. If different outputs are specified, iOS stops the output of the first app so the second app can output over the specified device. If the first app supports restarting, iOS will restart it.

I too have been having this issue since the latest release. I dock my iPhone and use the line out from the dock to my car stereo.

My "first app" (Rhapsody) is smart enough / supports restarting, but since the lastest Waze update, it frequently will not start. A bit more info... If I bring Rhapsody to the foreground... the music will resume. Also - if I leave Waze in the foreground, and double-click the home button on my iPhone to bring up the "recent" apps list at the bottom of the screen, music will resume playing. However, as soon as I tap the screen, and Waze gets the focus again (and full screen) the music stops.

Since we are using the dock, and the line out connection, it has nothing to do with the iPhone volume controls.

This used to work fine...now it doesn't. I'm glad to hear it will be fixed in the "next beta", but that cannot come soon enough.

Can you confirm that the music stops and restarts where it left off? As opposed to being muted.

I ask because I encounter a similar issue (with my audio streamer TuneIn Radio) with my iPhone. In my case, I'm listening to radio stations streaming over the internet. However, I always had the impression that it was merely muted, not stopped. I will look closer the next time it happens. My phone is connected via the data cable.

In case it helps: I resolved the problem by restarting one / both of the apps (Ware/Tunein Radio).

Wind is already there. Use the voice command to report weather.

What about those of us who don't like to/can't use the voice commands due to vehicle noise/etc...
It would be more appropriate to have at least wind as another form of reportable weather by touch.
