Audio output is still wonky. I use Sound Check, not sure if that matters. When in my car, I use my iPod control-enabled deck, and sounds go through that. The caveat being that you're only going to hear waze instructions when the deck is on the iPod dock connector input. Also, the volume keeps getting lower and lower with music when waze is active. Just today, waze faded out the music entirely, issued a command, then didn't even raise the volume back up, leaving complete silence. I had to replug the dock connector to force a re-sync with the deck. Another weird problem is having a song playing, going forward then backward, and now the song is quieter.

With the previous version, I would listen to a podcast on my car radio while using Waze. With this new release, the sound is turned off once I start up Waze. I'm using an iPod supported connector in my car - not the simple headphone jack.

I tried turning off the Waze audio input.

This problem means Waze is unusable for me now.

Yep. And it works finally, now too. :) In one of the betas it would reset the start point to your current location as soon as you selected a destination. It seems to work ok now.

Wow. My phone's in the car on the charger right now, so I can't play with this. Does this mean we can simulate a route and look at the nav list and the trail on the map to troubleshoot? :!:

What are you referring to as a "proximity sensor"?

I noticed this weekend that when I have Waze running for a long time (hours), the volume gets lower and lower.

I discovered that if I put the phone to "sleep", the volume becomes so loud there's some distortion. If I wake it back up, the volume drops again.

Also, I had the little "battery at 20%" popup come up the other day, and before I could kill the battery message, Waze gave a turn instruction at a very high volume.

These were all the Waze TTS, not the iOS TTS voice.

I love the new version so far.

I've found one bug so far where double speed podcasts get slowed down to regular speed after using the Voice Control feature:
* Have the Music app playing a podcast at 2x speed
* Initiate voice control in Waze
* When the voice control interaction is finished, the podcast is playing at 1x speed
* When switching over to the Music app, the 2x speed is still selected so you have to tap it a few times to cycle through the speeds back to 2x speed

Other than that, I just realize that I really need a car mount... I keep initiating the voice control when putting my iPhone back in its place on my dashboard compartment. :-P

I find red light camera alerts to be really annoying. I think many of them are false alerts (possibly mistaking traffic sensors for enforcement cams?), and I wish I could just mute the audible alerts so they don't interrupt my music and podcasts. It's not like I'm going to plow through red lights anyway.

Could this be a toggle in a future version, please?

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but on my iPhone 4S, everything worked beautifully until I updated to 3.1.1.0 and everything went crazy. When I am not moving, the car icon for my location bounces around on side roads around where I am. While driving it jumps over to side roads or shows me as stopped while driving on the freeway. I used this constantly, but now it is simply unusable. I removed the program, restarted my phone, and re-installed the program none of which fixed my issue. I have also reset my wireless data settings on my phone with no change.

I really want to keep using this as it helps me a lot on my daily commute, but until this can be fixed it is unusable.

Cannot see or change car/mood icons

Postby jmccall93 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 4:27 pm

I can not see the mood choices or change my car icon. I cannot see a car icon on the map either as I am driving.

Yes, mood menu and car icon menu were totally blank. Husbands phone looked fine. I decided to delete waze and reinstall since a reboot of my phone did not fix the issue. Now I am ticked that I lost all previous mileage data as well as it showing me as a newbie now even though I logged back into the same account. Why doesn't waze save all mileage and account information somewhere else do that it would still be there when I logged back in?
