I find this version drains my battery (HTC Mytouch 4g) very quickly. I can lose 2% per min.! I can't use it without it being plugged into a charger. I like the interface and configuration much better. I like the polished look, but the quick drain is a MAJOR negative. I would say that the new version easily drains 2X as fast as the previous version.

I have a suggestion for the display. In night mode, when you go into option screens, those pages should be dimmed or have a darker background. I find it a bit distracting when I'm comfortably in nightmode and went to report something to find the interior of the car light up.

Please address the energy management in the next release.

Thanks.

Using gps combined with a screen which is constantly on, will empty the battery very fast indeed. ;)

I understand that, but there are situations where you may not have the luxury of having a charger. Do you not find 2%/min. drain a bit much? Compared to the previous version, this one drains MUCH FASTER.

Upgraded from Android market today. Version shows 3.0.1.1. The same problem as, or even worse than, v2 is this app gets confused and recalculate every time exiting from parking lot. Tonight I drove from a restaurant back to my hotel which is 1.6 miles away. Waze originally calculated the correct route and began to recalculate when I drove around the restaurant to the exit. And after I parked my car at hotel, the recalculation was not completed yet. 5 minutes for recalculation! If I were on a highway, how many exits are passed? Seems I have to use Google Nav till new update is available.

Had the same problem several times in area with poor GSM signal. The client needs to be improved to collect the reports locally also when the connection is not available and send them when the connection is got again. I hope that developers read this thread and put a high priority on it.

Nice, that you released v3 with brand new shiny UI but some of the core functions are still far behind v2. When a traffic report upload failed then in v2 there was an icon on screen where I was able to resend the new report. In v3 when the upload fails it's gone. Yesterday I wanted to report a serious hazard on road but it failed and there was no way for second try. :(

I get all the traffic alerts etc. But I just can't see the map or use it to navigate.
Any ideas?

Try to deinstall Waze, delete the complete Waze directory and then install it again. If it doesn't help, the information about your device model and firmware will help the developers.

I just installed on my android the beta 3.0.2.3 and became myself as a registered beta tester however I still can't make changes to my map nearby, even if I report issues on it, how can I get permission to do it or it still not available for my region?

thanks.

If you are on the Europe (world.waze.com) server, this can be because it's being updated and no new routes are now uploaded to the profiles which gives you also the permission to edit the map around. If this is your case, please wait about a week more until it's done and you see the new routes in your dashboard.

I have noticed new users on my city every day, even this is a third world country I am impressed how great the app works in our capital, not even latitude is this exact and the navigation option from google maps is not available for this region, but as always since we are so few there's a lot of map errors that I would gladly fix if possible. Thanks anyway.

Greetings to Honduras!

1) do you see the recent routes in your dasboard? This should give you the permission to edit the map a mile around the routes. Have you tried to turn on the "editable area" layer in the map? Stays the area bright or does it go dark? It can be a problem you should report to support.

2) If you see the editable area and still cannot edit, the road segments can be locked by somebody with higher level.

And BTW, we are a bit off this topic. For further communication in the forum I recommend to create a new topic in the Map section.

If you are on the Europe (world.waze.com) server, this can be because ...

Actually it is the same server, better should have been called "all 'round the world except the North America and Israel".
...with the good old crashing  Symbian 2.1.99.114 (N-E52), while
trying to get used to the good new crashing Android 3.7.xx.yyy (SG-A2).
