This release of the beta appears quite stable. It still has an issue that if it crashes, and tries to automatically upload the appropriate data, the upload fails. Also on galaxy nexus, ICS, stock, not rooted, if the waze process is moved to the background while running and after working in another application you try to refocus on waze using the recent application button, waze immediately crashes, this is not new behavior, it simply has not been remedied yet. I have also moved and deleted old drive to locations, waze persists in trying to get me to drive there, granted I have not yet begun training it on my new routes, but there should be a way to delete old learned routes - ie i used to go to barnes on a given day each week, and now when that day - thursday happens, waze wants to go to barnes - almost 500 miles from here!m :D

That's the graphical issue I'm having too. It kinda throbs like a heartbeat. Its the only way I can describe it.

I'm having the same problem here. Nexus S with Android 4 PT_BR.

The same for me.... Only works on the first time after install. Then it keeps restarting while sending logs. Had do downgrade to stable version.

With this version, I often have some issues like this...
Data is OK - GPS is OK - Waze is unable to locate me on the map.
I was driving when suddendly, Waze lost me !
I have to stop Waze and launch it again to get a correct use of it !

Seem to be like already posted here...

harling wrote:I too started seeing rendering artifacts in my area as soon as I upgraded to this Beta. Many of them take the form of grey lines, the same width as regular roads, but they appear to run between geometry nodes on the same road or between two different roads.

Also, several of the roads in my area (including minor & major highways) have places where they double back over themselves repeatedly--and when navigating, if those segments are part of the route the entire "scribble" is highlighted. The car continues to move along the actual road as usual, but it's as though the road segments have a bunch of spurious geometry nodes, or they were read out of order when the tile was generated.

The livemap and editor map do not show any of these errors, and since they seem to come and go as the map moves, my conclusion is that it's a bug in the client's drawing code, rather than in the tile-rendering process. I don't know the full extent of the problem because I have only driven in this area since upgrading to this Beta, but it's a good place to start looking. Navigating from Main St in Rockport to Eastern Ave/Route 128 in Gloucester shows a couple really messed up places, plus both rotaries (roundabouts) in the area are being drawn on the client with Major Highway segments running right through the middles of the circles in a crosshatch pattern.

On a more positive note, the display does seem to have sped up enough to (mostly) eliminate the display lag and server timeout issues that I have reported in previous versions, starting with the first 3.x beta that I tried.

We are aware of this problem (which many others have also reported on) and working on a fix.

I have found that the ASR only allows me to go home or work. Is there any way to include other favorites or have it search for places I want to go?

Thanks!

Not at the moment. Maybe in future versions.

Launching Waze, texts are not good... See the screenshot below.
Note that the fact of taking this screenshot force a screen refresh and the texts became good !
Log sent few minutes after the screenshot !
Note also that this is the first time I encounter this issue with this version.

not in mood going thru 13 pages :)

to sum up: really a stable version, no map lagging at all, just the already known issue that the map is distorted by the "grey" segments (actually any type of road is distorted). And I registered that 9 of 10 times when switching from landscape to portrait waze "crashes"/ moves itself to background. When returning back, waze starts with splash screen and then sends logs.

I have noticed this issue several times and in previous versions. Network/GpS can take several minutes to lock in, and when GPS tries to lock in Waze moves you around several areas of the map trying to triangulate. While this routine is running, Waze will also ask you if you are driving to home/work/other favorite. If you start the navigation before Waze locks onto the GPS then it drops the flag in the wrong start place and it looks odd. Example below the flag is 4 miles past my actual start place. I am bringing this up now because I have seen this more often in this beta than in previous ones, and GPS seems to be locking a lot slower than before. Last night it was ~5 minutes before it locked on.
