I've been watching the client do this for some time myself & never bothered to say anything, the car surges along the road, it doesn't gild smoothly. Although I don't think it's the most important issue in the Waze world, it might be something to resolve latter on in development.

I've notice this as well.
It comes up on roads that aren't in the properly aliment for where the car is on the road.
So while you drive the car fine on the real road.
he Waze road might be couple meters to one side or more so the car icon is always banging against the waze road gutter shall we say, and everytime this happens the app has to relocate you back onto onto a waze road in order to move you along the road.
If the roads are altered to a better place on teh map you'll see you won't get the stuttering.

I've seen it happen on my phone. It tries to play catch up where the phone gets a little bogged down, but your problem sounds like gps. Any other nav app do the same?

That appears to be a result of A-GPS playing catchup. AFAIK, this will be fixed in the new version that will be coming soon-ish.
