Android beta 3.1.99.111 feedback thread

First run... Black screen and no splash screen.
Had to kill the application, and Waze icons remains in status bar.
Second run... Splash screen then crash of the apps. Waze icons still on the status bar.
Third run, splash screen, initialization process, Licence agreement, and screen telling me "New on Waze ?"
--> Very surprising !
I kill the apps again. No remaining waze icon in the status bar.
Run 4 : Still asking me for register !

After many tries, unable to log in. Waze found my password wrong !

Just installed the newest Beta tonight over the latest stable market version without any problem. I have the CDMA Galaxt Nexus w/ the latest Patient Zero ROM. The privacy menu w/ FB and Twitter carried over into the Beta version (I reverted to stable market version from previous Beta before installing this newest Beta) and I can now select the different options without it crashing (unlike the previous Beta)!!!! I will test it out further.

Sadly the problem with ghost segments / garbled map is still there on my Defy, so this one is still unusable. Nearby category search did not show any result for the categories I tried and there are lots of Gas stations / Parks / Hospitals / Banks in the area.

Installed perfectly over the previous beta on my GSM Galaxy Nexus (4.0.4 AOKP).

Not hit any problems yet, further tests today but one notable thing from today's quick commute was that it exited properly on Tasker's kill command, ie it didn't leave the rogue notification icon and didn't report a crash on restarting. Not sure if this was an intended fix but I hope it sticks!

i tryed new version as from subject today, italian language works almost correctrly, audio quality is much better than in previous beta, but remains the first word.. " IN xxx metri girare a ..." - must be "TRA xxx metri...."

So if you go to navigate, then select the arrow on a favorite, you should be on a screen where you see that location on a map with the tabs "Location", "Info", and "Specials". Now turn your device horizontal, to auto-rotate, then back to portrait. Those tabs become "tab 0", "tab 1", and "tab 2", respectively.

I saw a member say he was having routing issues with "avoid toll roads", but i don't see that option. His profile says he's in Italy, is that still not available in the U.S. or am I missing something?

Still not available in the U.S. But will be soon.

Toll road avoidance still isn't possible on ROTW either unless I've missed something!?

Damn, seems it does still register this as a crash!

For me gas stations and garages don't show in the category lists. All others seem to work fine. Could this probably be because foursquare uses one category for both (Gas Station or Garage). I wonder how you'd separate those two?

Suggestion: Also list the Waze POIs from your map in the categories. Although 4sq might be more exhaustive, I'm sure there's POIs on the Waze maps that might not be in 4sq or Bing. It would just be an extra tab in the search.

Otherwise, upgrading from the last beta worked on my Galaxy S I9000. Had an immediate crash when launching for the first time but it worked at the 2nd try.
The version seems slower though than the last betas. I especially notice lags when pressing onscreen buttons. It didn't really happen in the last betas.

Anyway, I do enjoy the category feature. It makes searching for POIs much easier.
I'm in Europe, so I couldn't test the gas price feature. I think it's a nice addition though I see so many other things that in my opinion should be fixed first that I'm wondering why this is being given such a high priority.
