Hi guys,

Please share here your comments on the latest beta.

What is new?

• Price update fixes, support 9/10 cents in US
• Select preferred fuel type and brand (brand is not used yet)
• Mute button moved from main menu to the top bar of the main menu
• New button for adding stop point (in the main menu, while in navigation mode)
• Nav list removed from main menu, now opened from the nav bar

What is fixed?

• Closing the update gas prices menu will not take you back to the map- fixed
• Alternate routes shows more then 3 alt routes and crashes when changing to map view- fixed
• Alternate routes will cancel "stop point"- fixed
• Crash after sending E-mail from share menu- fixed
• Ping sound loudness - fixed
• Stop point announcement and display fixes
• Many crash, bug & UI fixes

Known issues:

• No landscape support
• Error message appear when tapping a category result if its details are not loaded yet
• Distance to contact search results incorrect
• Updating gas prices: last gas price might not be updated
• Add stop-point from map segment (long tap) doesn't work correctly
• TTS doesn't speak in foreign language (speaks incorrectly)

First impressions, a few things have been moved around in the menus, search now works and categories doesn't crash Waze.

There's also a new item in the main settings menu "Gas Stations" ... it needs a logo:

When in the alternative routes screen, Map view - pressing the target button does not appear to do anything. Is this supposed to allow you to re-center the screen close to your current location, show all of the entire view of the alternative routes?

Thanks for the various fixes to the bugs so far!

I am not a fan of the automatic adding of the .009 to every price entered. It may be correct, but as suggested and confirmed by the other thread, it would be best, at least for the US, to completely drop the thousandths digit and simply truncate.

The new reddish background to the Events, number of comments and number of thumbs up makes the digit within that space to be easily visible. It was much better with the gray background. When looking at the image captured, it's easy enough to see, but the reduced contrast when in a bright car and when just glancing at the screen, there is not enough contrast between the red and the black to made it easily visible.

I ran into a situation when routing with a stop and I requested Routes, I received a screen with distance and time, but no information on the Via lines:

I do not like the slight rearrangement of the "My Mood" button on the My Waze button. It seems smaller and I think it worked better in the corner, rather than right in the top center.

As suggested in previous version 3's, it would make more sense for "Map" settings menu to contain these items (IMO):

• Map color scheme
• Speedometer
• Show on map
• Auto zoom
• Display map controls on tap
• Automatic night mode

The "Navigation" settings menu should contain:

• Type
• Dirt Roads
• Toll Roads
• Minimize Turns
• Avoid Highways
• Auto-learn routes to frequent destinations

Under the destination "More" menu, the new text "Add a stop on the way" still doesn't describe well enough that tapping it will set the current location as the destination and then add a stop. I think it would be clearer to read "Set destination then add a stop."

The release notes of one of the betas said we'd be able to save a favorite with a stop point. How?
I had a route setup(papa johns then Moms....good times...) and had no way of saving it??

Good question. The release notes were pretty short on this feature: "Routes with stop points can be saved to favorites as well." I've also looked the favorites to find a way to save a set of stop point+destination, but am not seeing it. Perhaps it's one of the features they are rolling in before full release?

I did some playing with categories now it works in the UK without crashing Waze.

In particular I noticed the Foursquare categories look really good compared to the foursquare check-in available via the report button.

The data is obviously available to Waze so can we use the same data (ie category icons and number of users checked in) when checking in via report?

Also I was thinking it would be a great option to (optionally via the foursquare settings in My Waze) automatically check in when you reach a destination found via searching Foursquare.

Additionally when trying to check in to foursquare could be have filters by category?

Bug: I found, at least during a couple routes today, that I could not add a stop point from the Categories. I don't see this listed as a known limitation. I would get the simple error message, "Uh-oh! Please wait..."

In some cases Waze seems to be not displaying the purple route line when I have a route set. It is stil displaying the next turn and ETA. Sometimes this appears to be when Waze needs to re-route because I have driven off of the Waze route and the network connection is weak. Not sure if this is the case every time.

I do like that Waze does not seem to dump your current route until another route can be calculated.

When reporting Gas Prices, the screen stays "stuck" at the location when the Reporting button is hit. You must always tap the "me on map" button to get Waze to resume "follow me" mode.
