iOS Beta 3.1.99.17 Feedback thread

The beta does not respect the event radius setting in Settings -> general.

I'm set at 25 miles yet I can see reports from up to 100 miles away.

I hadn't noticed this yet, but I'm set at 5 miles. I'll try and corroborate.

I haven't seen it happen again since, but I've had it start behaving as though always-north is turned on when it was off.

The search bug and the Categories bug are both gone for me in this one. Nice.

I forgot about sound. Same volume control bug is there. Client volume control is ignored on new session, and behaves as though at 100%.

In between Waze sessions are you adjusting the application volume in another application? If so, I believe that is why the volume is different the next time you launch Waze. There is only one application volume setting per output in iOS. Not a volume memory per application.

You're talking about device volume. I am not. Waze also has two sliders now. One for its own volume, which it has had for a LONG time now, and a recent addition which is a slider for device volume. Device volume is always on max for me. Waze volume is always around 20%. I never touch any of them. Waze isn't reading its own setting properly, or at least obeying it.

Gas prices need to be refreshed in the Waze application more than once per day. At least in the USA only refreshing the data once a day is going to have outdated prices nearly everywhere. All prices will be showing for a day ago at best. It needs to be updated every hour and show how old the prices are in hours vs days.

Another thing, for me whenever I launch the app I always get the "tips" for the buttons popping up. Shouldn't that go away after running it a few times?

AlanOfTheBerg wrote:I am not a fan of the automatic adding of the .009 to every price entered. It may be correct, but as suggested and confirmed by the other thread, it would be best, at least for the US, to completely drop the thousandths digit and simply truncate.

AlanOfTheBerg wrote:As suggested in previous version 3's, it would make more sense for "Map" settings menu to contain these items (IMO):
  • Map color scheme
  • Speedometer
  • Show on map
  • Auto zoom
  • Display map controls on tap
  • Automatic night mode

The "Navigation" settings menu should contain:
  • Type
  • Dirt Roads
  • Toll Roads
  • Minimize Turns
  • Avoid Highways
  • Auto-learn routes to frequent destinations

AlanOfTheBerg wrote:Under the destination "More" menu, the new text "Add a stop on the way" still doesn't describe well enough that tapping it will set the current location as the destination and then add a stop. I think it would be clearer to read "Set destination then add a stop."

Dave2084 wrote:I noticed the Foursquare categories look really good compared to the foursquare check-in available via the report button. The data is obviously available to Waze so can we use the same data (ie category icons and number of users checked in) when checking in via report?

Dave2084 wrote:Also I was thinking it would be a great option to (optionally via the foursquare settings in My Waze) automatically check in when you reach a destination found via searching Foursquare.

Dave2084 wrote:Additionally when trying to check in to foursquare could be have filters by category?

Thanks for your great suggestions!
We will take them under considerations.
