Creating Additional Client Applications

Does Waze support development of 3rd party clients that can leverage routing and social backend services? For example using real-time route calculations to help with EMT/Fire department dispatch effectively? I see the phone client is GPL, but what about restrictions connecting to the server? Do you support APIs?

Not at this time that I'm aware of. They just started branching out into different views for news, and are beta testing reporting from web clients, but none of this with an exposed API.

Any other work has been by community members reverse engineering the protocols, which for the most part as long as it is not malicious has neither blessing or disapproval from Waze.

*Edit* I forgot to mention, that you probably should contact waze direct. They are a small team, and the forum does move quickly. Especially if your project could help make the ends meet bills wise. They are still in startup mode, so would like useful additions that could help with the breaking even action item.
