iOS Beta 3.2.1.992 Feedback thread

Postby Dave2084 » Thu Aug 02, 2012 9:58 am

I'm re-posting this as I posted it in the previous beta at exactly the same time this beta was released, I have tested it and the behaviour is still the same.

Since toll road avoidance was enabled in the UK to coincide with the world server tiles update yesterday I've been doing some testing.

Tolls seem to be avoided fine when routing and when adding a stop on the few roads I've tried.

However, there is a problem. If you use "routes" one (or more) of the alternate routes may contain a toll road with no warning.

I don't have a problem with this in principle as it is a great way to get Waze to use a toll if you want to without delving into settings, BUT IT MUST warn you that this alternate route is a toll!

Also I would like to see three options for toll road avoidance; use, avoid and Ask.

Overall though, good work! It's nice to see my most wanted feature finally!

Hi Dave,

For the next client version we will mark the alternatives in case they will go through toll roads.

Isn't the point of "avoid toll roads" to actually do that, whether on the initial route selection or alternates? If I have toll road avoidance turned on, I do not want an alternate route to have a toll road in it. I thought that's what was previously agreed upon for this functionality? Or did I miss something? We were told there would be an icon for the alternate route showing there is a toll road included, but that's only if I have toll road avoidance turned off.

Entering gas prices without a decimal worked flawlessly for me today. Thanks!

Have you heard anything more about providing a real keypad for iPad users?

I've noticed a distance calculation but when adding a stop and been able to reproduce it multiple times.

My daily commute is 30-40 miles each way... If i wait til im 20 miles down the road and then try to add a stop, it will show search options close to me, be them gas, fast food etc... However once it does it's mileage calculations, it will show the distance from your starting point not your actual location.

For example today on the way to work 20 miles down the road I was in Hayward, CA, and I selected add stop -> gas station..

Below is a screen shot of my results...

This works for searches that use both waze and foursquare for their data feeds, those are the only ones I've managed to test.

Gas stations was enabled in the UK today so I made a point of going out to try and add some prices.

Got to the first station on my list and tried to add the prices:

A number or problems here:
1. There are two entries for Unleaded Fuel, one should be super unleaded I think
2. When I enter a price ending in .9 Waze changes it to .8
3. I can't save the price so I have wasted my time
4. The currency Symbol is wrong ... we use "£" not "c"

I'm not sure if this is beta related or not but I thought I'd post here anyway.

Correction: I've just re-read this and realised that the price 134.9p not £1:34.9, so instead of "c" (cents for Euro?) it should be "p" (for pence) in the UK.

Have you got an idea regarding the opening of this service in France?

>>> For the moment, no problems with the 3.2.1.992.
