I've just tried to check situation in Lithuania by faking GPS position for Waze client...

I've found I was able to enter price for this station: Neste Savanoriu 1 A24, degaline, Neste Lietuva
with price value 1.234. however I was not able to put in price 4.9 or so. based on this it seems that there is price range defined which controls validity of provided information...
it is also possible, that configuration of Gas Prices feature is not based on gas station location, but on user's profile (as I have seen different (slovak) gas types and the price I've entered was indicated as EUR)

Yes you really entered 1.23 and it is in Lt, not EUR :

As you can see now everything is o.k. and we can enter real prices.

for what i have seen, you should be ready to launch in Panama. Major Brands:

Texaco - 60
Delta - 180 Stations
TERPEL/ACCEL - 85 Stations
PUMA - 41 Stations
Others - ???

others independent o white brand is easier to identify

If this helps the developers with the problem already reported for countries where dots are thousand separators (instead of decimal separators, like in the US), this is how the error is shown to me: I just tried to enter some fuel price in Brazil, running Waze 3.5 on iOS 6.0.1.



There is no option to choose commas or dots, and I believe Waze just tried to prevented me to enter "thousands" of $$$ for the fuel prices.

By the way, congratulations on the great software!

Edit: tried entering one price at a time, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, so it is not related to comma x dots as decimal separators.

How many gas brands should be in the client?
Now, in Russia, gas brands terminate on the "S-С" letter. But there are many others russian letter - Т, У Ф Х, Ц, Ч, Э, Ю, Я

also with Australia being slightly larger than the USA it's going to be hard to pick up heaps of petrol stations to be honest.

I would like to propose a smaller number of points for just confirming prices already put in. I fear people will just confirm prices of every station they pass, for gaining points.

5 times confirming without changing a price is unlikely, 10 times is extremely unlikely to be valid. This could be recognized at the server-side.

So after 5 confirms (in a row) you could get a warning, after 10 confirms (in a row) you could be locked from the gasprice-feature for 24h.

I tried to enter one gas price at a time, as suggested already on this thread, and I was able to update only the regular price on two different places, so the problem is not related to commas x dots at all.

Could it be that for the other prices, Waze rejected my updates because the % change was too large? I also was not able to enter price for a box that had no prices before (ethanol in my case).

How close does the nearest gas station have to be before it appears on the Navigate search? When I try to search for a station to navigate to I receive no results but if I chose to navigate to somewhere else and search for a station to add as a stop on the way I get heaps of results.

How about a function letting you enter a discount on a brand. Ex when you have a bonus card with discount for every gallon.

If you prefer a single brand - you can select that now. Bonuscards seem to be such a rare occurrence that no one seems to have asked for it yet. For now you will have to do the math yourself.
