Gas prices feature: everything you need to know

You and I know that those actions won't get you points, but others don't. People have been doing that and will. Other ways of 'cheating' have been used too, we all know that.

About reporting: I have a second phone I use as a voice recorder. I quickly speak in the prices I read from the big sign, and type them while driving.

Just hitting ok to confirm the prices is much easier than typing new wrong prices. And, blindly typing numbers will probably lead to very odd prices, clearly wrong.

There is a difference in the amount of work that goes into changing prices and just confirming. That's clear and could be translated in a difference in points.

Just wait for the first 'user x is confirming all the gas prices in my neighbourhood without actually checking them' thread. It'll come.

Come on Mapcat, I'm only signalling that the way the gas prices feature works now isn't very safe and reliable. I just want to make sure that the quality of that part of Waze's information is as high as possible, and I see room for improvement. I never said I'm concerned about people copying my information or whatsoever. Couldn't care less. Why did you feel it necessary to drag that in here, and even advice me to occupy myself with another part of Waze?

As for editing and driving inequalities, what's that got to do with this? I know it works that way. So, if one thing's bad in the world, next we accept all things to be bad?

Let me guess — you tap on the station name, then on the grade of fuel you want to report, and… nothing happens. You have to tap on it twice? Maybe three times? That's how it does on my Galaxy S Showcase.

What is the problem exactly, any specific error message?

Hmm, I went to this location with fake GPS and couldn't either. No gas station found to report the price of. No gas station POI in the vincinity to drive to, at least, no Waze POI, Foursquare had them. It's up to support IMHO.

It seems it always goes better after a couple of days.

I'm not sure, but my point is: why to wait? just try and try (and try) and you will take your success

Yeah, sometimes I was able to succeed after a couple of times, sometimes I wasn't. Sometimes the next day I succeeded, sometimes after a couple of days. There's no logic. In the end, the server will deem the price valid.

In Brazil, we use the comma as decimal delimiter instead of the point.

Doesn't the whole world, except USA/Canada/UK?
