The longest route has 1 major highway segment.
The other segments are mostly minor highway.

The main reason for a longer route to be first is that it has fewer junctions (longer segments, typically highways). It also may be shorter by less than a min.
At this moment I would suggest something what third party already have: option to select economic route. I've noticed on the route from Wednesbury to Workshop it's choosing 30mils linger route just because its probably quicker by less than minute and has fewer junctions but in practice most of the time I can beat arrival without breaking speed limits:smile:
By the way, I think this problem is with server not client
