unable to get waze to search iphone contacts

waze works well but for some reason I cannot get waze to search the contacts stored in my iphone. Is there a setting somewhere that you must make to allow waze to have acess to your iphone contacts. Tired of messing with it.

Thanks for both of the posts but I know how it is supposed to work. The problem is on my iphone there will be nothing listed in the search results from my contact list. For some reason WAZE is not seeing or searching the contacts I have in my phone, that is why I asked if there was a permission that needed to be granted to allow WAZE to have acess to my phones contacts. Without the ability to search contacts, the app is much more cumbersome to use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can concur. iPhone 4, iOS6, works okay for me so far.

I can confirm I'm seeing the same issue. iPhone 4, 6.1.2, Waze 3.6

I ran some rudimentary tests and found the following:

- If the contact is listed by the person's name, Waze will be able to find it.*
- If the contact is listed by company name, Waze will NOT find it by company name. However, if there's a contact person name on that card, Waze WILL find that by the person's name.*
- Note that Waze will only return results on contacts that contain an address (for obvious reasons).

*Waze does not seem to support fuzzy search. ie, if you search for "jack", you won't get "jackson" in the results.

I hope these will get fixed very soon. I've switched to Waze from other nav apps and I really like it so far aside from the search oddities. It makes on-the-go navigating that much more annoying.
